Double bookings We booked a room for 4 people (2 adults + 5y + 2y olds) for 10-16 August and made a deposit since June. Since we were traveling with 2 children, we called on the 9th August to verify that everything was in oder. They assured us that everything was ok. On the 10th, an hour before checking in they called and told us that there was a “plumbing” issue with our room, which could not be fixed in the same day (we offered to check in late in evening) but would be somehow magically “fixed” the next morning. They arranged for us to stay in some AirBnb type of room of poor quality belonging to the cleaning lady, which at least they paid for. We went back to the hotel the next day early in the morning and demanded a room. We were give a different one. Walking by, we did mange to see that the room we were supposed to stay in, was already occupied. They obviously doubled booked the room, which they did not refute. They never apologized for the incident and were quite aggressive on the phone trying to cover up the situation. This entire thing was a big inconvenience and caused a rough start to our vacation, to the point of us thinking of canceling the entire thing and taking the boat back to the mainland. Other issues: The rooms on the first floor are definitely not as shown in the photos. Especially the bathroom feels really old. There is noone readily available for information/issues (no reception). We had to call the land lady’s mobile phone for what ever we needed. Too many stray cats Plus: Big swimming pool for its price range.

Highly recommended!! Had a truly fabulous 2 week’s holiday recently staying in a Superior Apartment. Yiannis & his family really go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome; nothing is too much trouble and they are on site should you wish to seek advice, but not at all obtrusive. It certainly shows that Gerekos has been a family business for 40 years, still going strong! Our apartment was extremely well fitted out, very clean, had good air conditioning & a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool. The pool itself was sublime, a good size, very well kept with plenty of loungers and shade should you wish. We found the holiday location of Kontokali perfect for our needs. A little beach was within 5 minutes walk, where you could also spend time by the sea, with a handy little bar/restaurant for drinks, snacks or meals. This was also a family concern, who were perfect hosts & food so fresh & reasonably priced. Everything we ate there was lovely (we tried most things during our 2 weeks)! A further 20 minutes down the lane was the main road for a regular bus to Corfu Town (15 mins), or another little walk down the backroad towards the Marina you’d find a number of other bars/restaurants equally good with some entertainment. We honestly were never bored and had our choice of relaxed, lively or Town Centre whatever we felt like doing. One of our favourite days was a boat trip (again Yiannis booked for us), up to Kassiopi for a mooch/lunch stop, gorgeous little town then a couple of swim stops on the way back.... fabulous! Our captain & crew again couldn’t have been any friendlier, highly informative & entertaining! Should we ever return to Corfu, we would certainly book to stay here again... thank you Yiannis!

Very Nice place to stay, calm, very nice People, they are very friendly. Big pool, close to a small nice beach, good restaurants at walking distance. The garden is well maintained and the appartements are very decent. Overal an excellent place to visit the beautiful island of Corfu
