★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I always have a meal at Giakoumes when in Heraklion. It never disappoints! Today I had the very traditional dish of Horta, wild greens picked in the countryside by the owner's mother in law the previous afternoon. While I was enjoying them he went to the butcher's around the corner to get me a steak which he proceeded to chargrill to perfection. That's what I call first rate good and service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were charged €6 for two cappuccinos which is double the cost that is normal for the city centre. Would not recommend for tourist as you will certainly pay the tourist tax here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely family run place with excellent friendly, personal and personable service. The owner came to greet me and have a chat despite me only being there for a quick lunch. The lamb was tender and freshly grilled. Simple but very delicious. The main draw is definitely the wonderful service. Highly recommended.
