Superb family taverna, with old and young Cretans dining singing and dancing.If you are lucky and early, or they take a booking, they may have room for you too..

But then my husband ordered this grilled burger that was really not great. It was not 100 percent meat, and it was really thin and small. So he was very disappointed with it. Plus the fries were not cooked enough for us (but I think that's how Greeks cook their fries, as all the restaurants we've been in Greece has the same way of cooking their fries).
The service was fine. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of our favourite places. If you visit Kalyves you must take time to stop and take some refreshments by the sea in O Gyalos taverna. You won't be disappointed with you meal or the atmosphere anytime of the day or night.
Try not to miss the live music nights...always great nights.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love it here. Very relaxed atmosphere. You can use the loungers free. The drinks are great value and the food is good. We had a mixed grill for 2 and it was huge and very tasty. We were given free appetizers and desserts too. The house wine here is good quality too, like merlot, much better than a lot of Greek wine. Beach is nice and lovely to swim here. I highly recommend.
