Giannis & Foteini - Άφυτος

Relatively nice place for good money but the bathrooms are very small and they lose water pressure in the showet and it is very hard to take one.

Everything was nice and clean. Good choice for a trip The only thing that bothered me is the fact that their pool looks enormous in pictures from the internet but when you arrive there it's like half of what you thought it is.

We were there on July 2017 and experienced lots of problems: Air condition was working but was cooling itself. I asked for a solution and they sent a fan to our room !!! Bathroom is very small and smells sewer. Sheets of the beds were the worst, they were full of stains of everything. The room was so filthy that we couldn't take off our shoes ever. No mosquito nets at the windows and balcony. I do not recommend this hotel at all. This was my first trip to Afytos and explored lots of great hotels there. I want to forget the accommodation part of my vacation at Afytos. It was terrible.

The lady at the reception was very helpful and forthcoming. She really made an effort to welcome us. We requested a second blanket and received one almost immediately. The hotel itself is very quaint and is decorated in an authentic Greek style. For cat lovers: one might be greeted by the hotels own cats when leaving the room. The pool was small but at night the hotel is lit up in the most beautiful way. There are many seats around the pool to sit and relax. The room we chose had its own little porch with a small table and chairs. The view was towards the main road but there were many plants and trees which gave it a tropical touch. The room has a fridge, a TV, a hair dryer, an aircon, free WiFi. After reading other reviews I can confirm the damp and moldy smell. This can be found in the hallway and not in the room itself. But since we booked outside of the peek season we were given an option of three rooms. The rooms definitely need touch ups. Little things such as the hand towel holder needs repairing. Another downside is the fact that the hotel is situation right next to the main road. It can get a bit loud at times, but since we were most of the time out, we didn't notice much even though our room was right at the main entrance. Most obvious are the photos used to advertise the hotel with. When viewing them one perceives to book in a 5 star hotel (even though it's not advertised anywhere). This is not the case. But for the money paid one still has a decent place to stay. This hotel is definitely worth a visit when you are planning a trip to Afitos!

What we didn't like: 1.The hygiene level was very low - the blankets had stains, the towels are not white enough, had stains as well; there were spider nets all over the place, also the furniture was dusty 2. The location is not so good - the hotel is more like a motel and it is very noisy because of the main road in front 3. Small room, very small bathroom, not comfortable at all 4. Only one blanket was provided for a double room; when asked for a spare one it was not provided; they gave me the bed cover for sleeping 5. TV provides all in all 5 channels - Greek ones 6. WiFi signal was not so strong 7. Breakfast is not very rich, the coffee was awful // What we liked: 1. The air conditioning was working very good (you will need it as it is not possible to sleep on open door due to the noise); 2. The water pressure was very good; 3. The staff was friendly but with bad English

Worst accommodations I've been to in a long long time. 1. There is moist everywhere in the room. 2. Small bathroom with almost nothing working correctly. 3. Had to ask the boy that works there 3 times to come and see the toilet as it was not flushing or it couldn't stop running. 4. There were black moist stains on the ceiling accompanied with flies. 5. Very dirty place. 6. Half of the shampoo was already used when we got the room. 7. No chance of quite time at least until 11 and even after that since the hotel is so small and keeps people in its bar/cafe even later. 8. There was a gum stuck on the remote control when we got there and even 2 days later as the cleaning lady got to clean the room she left it there. Maybe the worst experience from a hotel we had. Do not go there!!!

I stayed at Giannis and Foteini for a week at the end of June with my family. We had an apartment which had a room with a double bed and a small kitchenette with a fridge. There was a shower room and a room with bunk beds for the children. Everything was very clean and the beds and towels were changed every other day. There was also plenty of storage. We had a balcony at the front and back of the apartment and the one at the back had distant sea views. The owners of the hotel are very friendly, helpful and polite. They keep the hotel and the gardens clean and tidy. There is a small unheated pool and also a Jacuzzi and seats downstairs. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk away from the main town centre which has some lovely traditional buildings and cobbled streets. The beaches are beautiful with some good bars and restaurants nearby. There are three mini supermarkets in Afitos town centre, in which you can get most things. There are also several excellent bakeries. There is a Lidl shop but this is something to drive to, not walk to because of its distance from the hotel and it's location. We used the Greek supermarkets which had plenty of choice and an array of fruit and vegetables. Overall we had a lovely holiday and I would recommend both the hotel and the resort.

Very quiet, clean and lovely place. The host was great and friendly. The room was clean with a little garden, and the hotel is close to everything. Would definitely come back next year!
