★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vom Giristi (1774 m) hat man eine spektakuläre Aussicht auf Heraklion und das Tal des Rouvas Waldes. Ein Ausgangspunkt für diese Wanderung ist Ano Asites über die Prinos Hütte (es sind dann etwa 1300 Höhenmeter - der bekannte Teil des E4 Wanderweges). Die Aussicht vom Gipfel ist hervorragend, eine der besten Landschaften auf Kreta. Alternativ nimmt man die Schotterpiste von Gergeri zum Skinakas (Allrad dringend empfohlen) und lässt das Auto unterhalb des Gipfels (z.B. 4 km oberhalb des in Bau befindlichen Aussichtspunktes) stehen. Hier sieht man rechts ein Seitental des Giristi - dann sind es nur 300 Höhenmeter. Wie es aussieht, wird oben gerade eine Kirche gebaut.
 From Giristi (1774 m) you have a spectacular view of Heraklion and the valley of the Rouvas forest. A starting point for this hike is Ano Asites via the Prinos hut (it is then about 1300 meters altitude - the well-known part of the E4 hiking trail). The view from the top is superb, one of the best landscapes in Crete. Alternatively, you can take the gravel road from Gergeri to Skinakas (all-wheel drive strongly recommended) and leave the car below the summit (e.g. 4 km above the viewpoint under construction). Here you can see a side valley of the Giristi on the right - then it's only 300 meters in altitude. It looks like a church is being built upstairs.
