★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am visiting Greece from New Zealand and my yacht Matariki has been on the hard for the past 2.5 years due to Covid.
My B&G plotter had been playing up since we launched in Leros 3 weeks ago. Very crazy behaviour like rebooting, dropping Depth and wind readings and the charts were absolutely disgusting straight lines..After a week of help from Ivan at B&G we headed to Zea Marina in Athens in the hope of finding someone to sort our problem and reconnect our network.
Into the ther picture came George from G.M.Electronics, Perama, Athens.
In an hour he had our system sorted out. The Plotter and charts are working fine, the depth back where it should be, the wind instruments all working again, and the VHF radios now transmits our correct MMSI number Something which cost me megabucks to have changed on the AIS 3 years ago when we bought the boat.
