If I could rate it 0 stars then I would. The only enjoyable aspect of this stay was the look of the building from the inside with the curtains closed. To be fair, the bed was comfortable and it was clean, but it’s a 5 star hotel and that’s surely the bare minimum. To start with the area was vile. So much noise, constant shouting and screaming from the outside and old, dusty building surrounded it so even with a room with a view it was horrendous. Secondly, my girlfriend was pregnant at the time of the stay and she was woken up three nights in a row at 4am until 6am from people and other noises coming from inside the hotel (bearing in mind they promised sound-proofed rooms). We complained twice but no action was taken other than two complimentary glasses of wine… which pregnant women cannot even drink and they refused to change it to a soft drink instead… just straight weird in my opinion. Thirdly, my girlfriend is allergic to dairy and they advertised plenty of options for vegans and people with dietary requirements. None of this was true. She couldn’t eat anything from the very overpriced lunch/dinner menu and the only things she could have for breakfast was cold eggs, bacon, beans and fruit. Another terrible thing about this hotel, which is also mislead in the reviews and hotel’s description, is it’s location. A taxi into central Athens was €40 one way and there was a metro station around 5 minutes walk from the hotel, which took you to central Athens in around 25 minutes but it was always packed and not a single person on that tube offered my pregnant girlfriend a seat. On one of the days there was a tube strike (apparently a common occurrence on the Athens tube lines) and we were left to get a heaving bus with no available seats, openable windows or air conditioning in 30°c heat. To add to all of this, the staff were incredibly unhelpful when we decided to leave 3 days early due to issues regarding pregnancy, everything we experienced above and problems with the city itself. They have added an extra €228.30 cancellation fee (which was never declared or spoken about by the staff prior to making the decision to leave when discussed with them) on top of what was already a very expensive room for the location and quality of stay in which we received. Overall, the Green Suites Boutique Hotel almost ruined our holiday in Athens and the only nice thing we can take back from there was the fact we have now left.

We arrived at this hotel on Monday afternoon just after 1.00 pm I think. Our room was not ready, that was not a problem at all. My travel agent had arranged for an upgrade which we got. The room was absolutely lovely, clean and bright. We were told at check-in there was a possibility we would have to change room on Thursday, I cannot remember the reason why but it was still an upgraded room. The new room (701) was a delight with even more room. The staff on the desk was extremely helpful and polite. Thank you for making our stay comfortable and for the late check-out. I would also point out that upon check-in you have to pay an additional hotel tax, I think that's what it is called. I paid 20 euros. Can I just mention the beds. If I could take the mattress and pillows home with me, oh boy. The bed was extremely comfortable. I think I can honestly say this is one of the best beds I've slept in. The bar and pool area is so beautiful, the views. Before we arrived, the website said the pool would not be open until May, however, the pool was open and that was a bonus. The cocktails very lovely. Thank you bar staff for being so hospitable and kind and for the welcome drink. The views at night and the ambiance of the bar lovely, cosy and relaxing. Eurobank is right next door to the hotel as well as supermarkets, other shops and the train station. As we could not figure out using the train we just took cabs to where we wanted to go and found the taxi drivers very helpful and polite. Would I stay at this hotel again, Yes.

Amazing little hotel. It is very clean and decorated very well. I booked the suite and just love it here. Highly recommend! Definitely a hidden gem. Five star all the way.

To start with the positive: the room (superior) room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed, plenty of space, great shower and bathroom and amazing balcony. Plus the roof top terrace offers an incredible view. But: The breakfast offers very limited selection of food, no bread rolls, artificial tasting orange juice and to top things up, mould on the toast, offered in a rather dark breakfast room. The noise level is challenging, with corridor music waking us up at 8am, and our door shattering every time another door on the floor gets closed. The doorknob of the bathroom was lose and could have resulted in one of us getting locked in without being able to open the door anymore The 'Athens view' offers view is, well, limited with the Akropolis being seen kilometers away and otherwise mainly looks of (relatively ugly) neighbouring buildings. And the hotel is certainly not 'central' at all - as they advertise but then state on their own website that it is a 3 minutes walk to the subway and then 15+ minutes drive. Overall, a bit disappointing

I have used the pool a couple of times. The first time was last year where I paid 15 euros while this summer it has been increased to 25 euros during the weekend. The price doesn't justify the quality that you get for multiple reasons. 1) The pool, although lovely, is small. 2) Just a few sunbeds which means that you book a slot just for two hours. Paying 25 euros for 2 hours is a bit far-fetched in my opinion. Tables in the back can be used afterwards in order to keep using the pool. 3) The view is not as good as they want to believe. Yes, you can see Acropolis but the surrounding area is dense with ugly buildings. The menu is nice but very expensive as well. After having checked what the hotels in the city Centre offer, I would argue that this hotel with the amenities they offer at this price, simply not worth it. Hotels such as Caravel & St George Lycabettus offer a way better experience at similar price points. Maybe a bit more expensive (around 30 euros) but considering the level and the quality that you get, it makes a bit more sense.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend Green suites. The building is very nice and does look like a 5 star hotel, the staff we dealt with were also very friendly and helpful. If it hadn’t been for them I would have left a 1 star review. However, It’s not central as advertised, the surrounding area isn’t aesthetically pleasing and there is not a great deal to do or see. When we initially booked in March it was advertised on booking.com as having free parking. When we arrived we found it was €10 per day which adds up when you are there for more than a few days. There are allot of extras which aren’t advertised. The sauna is €10, fresh orange juice at breakfast is €5 and a omelette is €7. Otherwise there is a good selection of food at breakfast although the quality wasn’t great some mornings due to certain items lying out for too long. The room service menu is relatively over priced and the pizzas taste like supermarket frozen pizzas and cost €16. The pancakes however were possibly the best pancakes I have ever had. The rooms are equipped with a large tv but very little choice of what to watch. There are apps for movies etc but none of them worked, all we could get were local channels which were predominately in Greek or German. There is also a horrible sewage smell coming from the bathroom and the shower water doesn’t drain properly. We paid €30 to have a bag of washing done but later were able to get three bags done for €12 around the corner at a local dry cleaners. I understand the staffs time has to be covered to arrange this but a mark up of 250% is excessive. The gym is very small and not well equipped if you required weights heavier than 10kg however there are gyms locally you can join. The rooms are advertised as sound proofed but they are not. You can clearly hear any noise from the hall, neighbouring rooms and outside. The whole room shakes every time someone opens/closes a door to their room due to them being fire doors and slamming shut very loudly. It is in a noisy neighbourhood so you will hear locals shouting and driving fast through the streets in the early hours. We did eventually complain to staff about the noise as we were kept up all night on one occasion due to people in the room next door out on their balcony. We had to wait over 24 hours for a response from management who were never available to speak in person, instead the staff give you a email address to contact them. We asked to have at least a portion of the remainder of our stay refunded so we could arrange alternative accommodation but this was refused. They did re arrange their bookings to allow us to move rooms to the back of the hotel which was slightly better but unfortunately all rooms have the same poor standard of soundproofing so we never got a proper good nights sleep during our stay. On check out we were given two small bottles of spirits, judging from other reviews this seems to be the standard response to guests who complain. Overall it looks like a 5 star hotel but based on my previous experiences I wouldn’t say it performs as one and we left disappointed.

Lovely hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. Our room was on the fifth floor, quiet at night. Lovely room decoration, really enjoyed our breakfast and a coffee on the rooftop bar with views of central Athens. We'd happily stay again in this hotel!

Honestly please read my review to save yourself money and a bad holiday! I would not recommend to any friends or family. Have never posted a bad review or really had any issues with hotels before and I travel often but this was by far one of the worst stays I’ve ever had. Starting with the incredible amount of noise throughout the hotel at night time. I was woken up at 4am -6am with clashing (maybe pipes) and voices that sounded like staff in the stairwell. Not only was there noises from inside but outside too. Cars driving past etc if you are a light sleeper you will struggle with sleeping here! The bed is comfy but the pillows are hard which makes things even more difficult and there is no heating when it gets a little chilly at night. The hotel genuinely had a weird vibe and so did the staff. Another issue was the surrounding area. It was very far from the city centre even though it says it’s near! It wouldn’t be safe to walk as a female (in my opinion) to the city and it would be an hour & 30 mins walk through a dodge area and main road. Metro or bus is your only option to be honest unless you want to spend 40/50 euros one way to the city. The buildings around are not pretty and graffiti is everywhere. The locals look at you like you’re some kind of alien on the metro and as soon as you leave the hotel! You wouldn’t want to be sat on the balcony or even take photos of the outside area as it really is awful. Find a hotel closer to the city if you’ve come to experience Athens with a view you won’t be ashamed to photograph. The food was also an issue, the lack of vegan options at breakfast and the fact there was absolutely no choice of food I could eat for dinner / lunch there. I have an allergy to dairy and their was nothing they could provide me with except fruit and eggs for breakfast. Breakfast was also cold my partner had to ask for his to be heated up! Unfortunately due to these reasons and health reasons we decided to leave 3 days early. We were told we could have a full refund on the last 3 nights we had left or credit towards another future stay. Eventually they gave us credit to another stay but then took 236 euros as a cancellation fee which was never spoken about or a part of their policy which has now coursed an open complaint with us, the people we booked with and the hotel. So the credit doesn’t even cover one night at the hotel (not that I’d want to come back anyway). But to be charged for a fee that shouldn’t even exist just seemed wrong. Honestly I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone and would suggest finding a nicer hotel more central to Athens. The money is not worth being wasted and is overpriced for the location and food and noise here. Very unhappy with my stay and the staff were not helpful whatsoever.
