Wounderfull, green, full of life and places to visit.

Pictureque seaside town, with its neoclassical architecture and amphitheatrical shape. With recent municipal redistricting it has become capitol of East Mani, though do not expect the stark stone towers of Areopoli and Gerolimena. This move was fueled by administrative rather than historical and geographical reasons. Mani begins from the castle of Pasava and onwards.

Perfect tourist destination

Long, long ago when most people still rode around the village on donkeys, I lived here and worked on some construction sites where we found amazing ancient artefacts every time we dug into the heavy clay. The site bosses just told me and other foreign workers to throw it all away with the rest of the clay and earth that we dug up. Very sad, but I was a young man working my way round the Mediterranean and drinking way too much retsina to worry about ancient pottery? I hear it later became a tourist destination, but when I was there, there were no tourists, just itinerant foreign hippies and criminals on the run... It was a great hide out for those guys! There's a lot more about my time in this place, in my book, due to be published later in 2021.

A nice little picturesque town with many beaches nearby. Would recommend for family vacation

Gytheio was a discovery for us. Quiet town with a very nice corniche and picturesque and colorful houses and buildings. The big surprise was seeing a major sized turtle having a swim in the harbor at around midnight! In the harbor!

A wonderful old city. Worth walking around up to the old church. Then pass by the charming little harbour and walk to the lighthouse, you'll enjoy great views.

Beautiful definitely worth a visit. Lovely blue sea, nice bay with lots o restaurants looking out onto.
