Friendly staff, very good yachts, good service, exellent technical staff. I sail with them for years! From Lavrio and Levkas. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars!

Lavrio base: had a really crappy boat. Took more than 1/2 a day to get some things fixed. Staff kind of slow (worse than the normal greek way). Not enough spare parts to really fix the boat. At least check out was quick though they were not very much interested in further findings ( e.g. leaking windows). Not recommended.

We love sailing and we love HDM Sailing yes.......I think it is because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, and ships change, it because we all came from the sea. Like the family of HDM Sailing. And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the see, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the see. And when we go back to the sea - whether it is to sail or to watch it - we are going back from whence we came. Now hear in HDM Sailing the sailors cry, smell the sea, and feel the sky let your soul and spirit fly, into the mystic... with HDM Sailing like we do......

Chartering a boat is often like renting a car - book, deposit, pickup, dropoff, goodbye. HDM takes every charter very personally. They will tell you the story of a boat and its weaknesses and strengths, they will discuss your ideas about the trip and share theirs, and if by chance you don't have time (which is weird in Greece) they will have just everything ready for your joy, either it is brand new Bavaria 51 smelling "new Bavaria" or an older Oceanis 34 smelling thousands miles and hundreds of adventureous stories. They are just in shape - boats, marinas, service staff, papers, attitude, prices, extras. And your journey begins.

After 3 years of sailing in Greece with HDM we just booked an extended summer holiday for 2016 with this company. As always, they showed great flexibility and we are looking forward to it once more. For our sailing in Greece we always come back to HDM because the equipment is strong, the service level is high (including Wifi, airport transfers, groceries on board, spotless boats) and the staff is like family. They always overdelivered our expectations. Quint

My experience with HDM sailing has been very disappointing. Instead of offering gifts on the boat – as it seems they always do- I would really advice them to check the security (and the comfort also) of the boats first! It’s not clearly stated but when you book a boat through HDM sailing, you should not expect them to check/maintain the boat and to do the check in and check out. From our experience, the boat we had booked was finally the boat of a private owner who took care to do the maintenance. It seems he maintained his boat not that well as we had faced security issues and we were also disappointed about comfort issues. HDM teams came once on the boat for delivering towels and sheets of beds. Apart from that, they never came at all, either for the check in or the check out: thus they were not aware of the problems there were on the boat. We had to send them emails while sailing and to look for them in their office to talk to them when we came back from our trip. At check in and check out, they leave you with the private owner of the boat who has no interest in acknowledging the issues you may face/had faced on his boat. This leaves you without any recourse when you have to deal with a problem as the private owner and HDM sailing both have an interest in pretending everything went fine. This is why I write today. Yes, it’s true HDM sailing team offered us to meet a technician during our sailing but we would have expected that the VHF battery would have been checked before our departure (as we discovered it was completely dead) and we would have expected that the trampoline nets were not standing out while sailing. In addition, we had comfort issues (The boat rented was presented as having 6 rooms and 5 toilets but they forgot to say that one cabin was a room/toilet with toilets under the bed, the entrance door of the boat once closed from the outside, was no longer opening, there were electricity matters…). We had talked to Georg, the son of the family and as he advised we sent an email making the list of all the problems encountered. It has been difficult for us to get a reply, we had to write and to call many times. It ended up one month and a half later with a reply explaining that everything was our fault. We feel puzzled by the behaviour of HDM. By writing to them and explaining all the issues encountered, we really though we would help them to improved the way they manage their business. It seems that they don’t care about customer relationships at all as once you are back in your far away country like it was the case for us. I would not recommend them and book through them for my next vacations.
