If you are a tourist and visiting this place for the first time this place looks just a simple park and it's not recognizable as a museum. Also it should have been much bigger with more attractions and material. Greece was born in the seas...!

Some beautiful models of many different types of ships. Located on the coast in an attractive area. A little disappointed that there isn't a lot more info about Greek ancient naval history. Also the recreated trireme Olympia is some 7 km away. An awkward location difficult to reach.

Under visited museum that has an odd layout and a strange hodge podge of exhibits, including a huge selection of model ships. You'll also find an array of naval exhibits including weaponry. As mentioned above, it's a slightly odd museum which is even odder considering Greece's proud maritime heritage.

The museum as architecture is part of the marina Zeas so you may not notice it immediately. It hosts many models of ships from ancient time to contemporary times in Greece. As a sea worthy country the maritime history of Greece an essential part of the country's paddle through the centuries yet the Maritime Museum in Pireas is rather small and not very well upkept. For example fluorescent industrial lights fall on many glass encased objects on display....Still if you like ships it still is an interesting visit in a lovely settings of Marina Zeas.

A small museum with great interest. The maritime history of Greece is presented in this beautiful museum, with collections of the Independence War the 1st and 2nd WW and many exhibits reflecting the importance of the Sea for the Greeks. The result is the formation of the greatest merchant marine fleet in the world, holding the 1st position for many many years. A must for the sea and history lovers.

Only maketts and small items inside. Not expensive but nothing special.
