Στην ταινία που έχω κάνει ("Η αγία της Μαντίνειας" και μία άλλη εκδοχή της "Στιγμή απολιθωμένη") το πως και γιατί έγινε αυτή η εκκλησία έτσι όλα αποσαφηνίζονται από τον αρχιτέκτονά της, τον αρχαιολόγο, τον. κ. Σπυρόπουλο, και τον τεχνοκριτικό, κ. Γαλανάκη, αλλά και τον καθηγητή αρχιτεκτονικής στο Πολυτεχνείο Θεσσαλονίκης, κ. Μητσόπουλο. Εδώ θα προσπαθήσω να φωτίσω λίγο το θέμα λέγοντας, για αρχή, ότι αυτή η εκκλησία είναι πιο γνωστή στο εξωτερικό, παρά στην Ελλάδα. Ο Παπαθεοδώρου θέλει να δείξει, με αυτή την αρχιτεκτονική του πρόταση,ότι ο χριστιανισμός, ως φιλοσοφία, είναι η συνέχεια των φιλοσοφιών που προϋπήρχαν αυτού. Αυτός είναι ο λόγος που βάζει, αντί τρούλων, παγόδες, αρχαιοελληνικά δομικά στοιχεία, δωρικό ρυθμό και, μέσα στην εκκλησία υπάρχουν ρητά που αναφέρονται στην ελληνική φιλοσοφία και ιστορία, υπήρχαν επίσης αγιογραφίες όπως του Παπαδιαμάντη και του Κολοκοτρώνη, οι οποίοι αγιάσθηκαν με τον τρόπο ζωής και τον αγώνα του. Δυστυχώς αυτές, μ εντολή του νυν μητροπολίτη σβήστηκαν και δεν υπάρχουν πια. Οι αγιογραφίες είναι του ίδιου του αρχιτέκτονα. Αξίζει να τον επισκεφτείτε, είναι ανοιχτός συνέχεια, και να αφιερώσετε λίγη ώρα στην παρατήρηση του εσωτερικού και εξωτερικού οικοδομήματος. Θέλει την προσοχή και το σεβασμό μας. Papatheodorou wants to show, with this architectural proposal, that Christianity, as a philosophy, is the continuation of the philosophies that preceded it. This is why he puts, instead of domes, pagodas, ancient Greek building blocks, Doric style and, inside the church there are expressions that refer to Greek philosophy and history, there were also hagiographies such as Papadiamantis and Kolokotronis, who were sanctified by the way of life and his struggle. Unfortunately, these were deleted by the order of the current metropolitan and no longer exist. The hagiographies are by the architect himself. It is worth visiting, it is always open, and to spend some time observing the interior and exterior building. He wants our attention and respect.

The fact that it is located i this beautiful environment full of trees and green grass makes it even more fascinating.
