The place and the feeling it leaves you with is wonderful. The tavern has a variety of fish but also makes delicious meat for those who wish.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed at Hiona Cottage in May 2019. It was perfect. Quiet and away from the crowds but still very close to a variety of eating options (including the excellent restaurant next door). The cottage itself is compact but has everything you might need (coffee pot, stove top, small oven, kettle, shower). It keeps cool because it's an old stone building which made it pleasant when it was warm outside. We spent the mornings windsurfing at Kouremenos beach and afternoons reading on the patio, with lots of wonderful Cretan food in between. The housekeeping came in twice per week and even brought us a cake the first time! A great place for a relaxing break!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited the restaurant multiple times and to us, it is now a tradition to have a dinner whenever we are in the area! Amazing food, amazing people but above all, it’s location, nearby the sea! Anyone can enjoy fresh fish but meat plates are top too!
