Holiday Inn Athens - Airport, an IHG Hotel - Between Exits 17 And 18

Room was comfortable, in particular the bed. Bathroom was ok. The toilet flush was not working very well (had to give it 2 or 3 pushes every time). The water temperature on the shower was not constant (sometimes a colder stream would come in the middle of the warm one). For breakfast, the overall quality of the food could be improved. The rostie potatoes tasted of old oil. For dinner, few options for a proper meal. Menu was mostly composed of light meals (snacks/sandwiches/salads). Hotel staff was friendly and helpful everywhere. The Shuttle service to/from the airport was convenient (although only once every hour).

Perfect Place for a layover/international flyers that need a night to layover. We were coming from an island and needed a place near the airport. This was a great hotel for that because the staff were really courteous made everything easy, quick and I didn't have to think when I was exhausted at the end of our trip. Job well done all around.

We visit Greece annually and like to stay a night before we drive north. Our first stay at this hotel was last year. This is our second stay. The service, staff and the hotel itself is exceptional. They make you feel welcomed, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. We will be staying again and highly recommend.

After a long day of travel, I check in and go to the room. The temperature in the room is inordinately warm, so I set the thermostat as low as it would go, 20 C. The fan comes on full tilt. After unpacking a bit, the temperature in the room has not changed. I call the desk to ask how to cool the room. Um, well, the air conditioning is not on, so there isn't a way other than opening the window. The bonus is when the window is opened the HVAC system turns off, so no air flow. Awesome. The window opens only a small amount, so I'm stuck in an uncomfortably stuffy room until enough air comes through the small opening to cool it down. As it turns out this takes over 6 hours. After this little tete'a'tete, I call room service to place an order. I'm about to ask them to bring it up to the room, when I'm told, "we'll call you when it's ready and you will come and get it". Nice... 30 minutes or so, I get a call and I go pick up my food. Guess who didn't get a tip? The Caesar salad was small, and honestly not particularly good. The chicken was very dry. There were lot of croutons. though. Definitely sub-optimal. The final coup de grace is you have to leave your entry card in the doo-hicky by the door or the room descends into complete darkness. That's a nice touch guys. I had to turn the light on my phone on to figure out what in the word was going on. I realize you have an advantageous situation of being near the airport. That doesn't mean you don't need to provide good service. The hotel facility was perfectly fine. Not recommended.

Extremely comfortable bed, very comfortable and well appointed room, well maintained facility. Very courteous and helpful staff. Restaurant OK, not great, very expensive for Greece. Overnight airport shuttle service only once every hour not frequent enough, and takes longer than expected (~20 minutes), so plan ahead.

Supreme service! My wife and I had many flight changes and issues making us miss our check in at another location. I inquired about availability at roughly 4pm asking about check in around 3 am when I would be arriving. They had room and were very affordable. When we arrived, they had a free airport shuttle that was timely and efficient. The front desk was helpful, the hotel looks amazing, room was very clean, and they accommodated a late check out for us at no extra charge. Absolutely wonderful!

After our cruise, our group of 8 needed a place to stay near the airport because we had early morning flights, and this Holiday Inn provided free shuttle to the airport which was the primary reason we selected it. We arrived at the hotel to check in around 2:00pm. The check-in process was very quick and efficient. During check-in, we were asked if we needed a ride back to the airport to catch our flight the next day, and what time we wanted to go. They were keeping a tally of customers to make sure the shuttle could accommodate all of us. And then we were asked if we wanted a wake-up call. That was very considerate of them, and I appreciated it. After we checked out our rooms and dropped off our luggage, we met up at the lobby to look for a place to eat. Fortunately, we didn’t have to go too far as this Holiday Inn had a restaurant on the premises. The menu offered a variety of options, and all looked good to these hungry and tired travelers. The food was prepared quickly, and it was very tasty. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue and were relieved that we didn’t have to hunt for a restaurant because it started to rain and we did not have a vehicle available. The following morning, we had to check out by 7:15am to catch the Holiday Inn airport shuttle at 7:30am. The front desk was ready for us. Check-out was quick and easy. It took a while for the shuttle driver to load all the luggage for the passengers, but he eventually succeeded and got us to the airport on time. I would stay there again and recommend them to my friends.

Our group of travelers from the US had an unexpected prolonged stay in Athens this week. This Holiday Inn has made every effort to accommodate our group and has been exceptional in every way. From their polite hotel and managerial staff to their room service and housekeeping... everyone has been delightful! The rooms are modern, spacious and clean. I was pleased to see the Western amenities that we had not had at other hotels during our tour of the country, like face towels and tissue paper. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel at the beginning or end of your visit to this most beautiful country Greece.
