Το ιδιαίτερο στοιχείο που τον χαρακτηρίζει, εκτός της εκτεταμένης χρήσης παλαιότερων αρχιτεκτονικών μελών, είναι οι φάσεις τις οποίες διασώζει, αφού είναι χτισμένος πάνω στα λείψανα μιας μεγάλης παλαιοχριστιανικής βασιλικής. The historic temple of Paiania, probably built in the 13th century, is still in very good condition. The distinctive feature that characterizes it, apart from the widespread use of older architectural members, is the phases it preserves, since it is built on the remains of a large Early Christian basilica.
