Также в храме похоронен капитан Савицкий из эскадры адмирала Ушакова, освободителя Корфу.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ В эту церковь любил заходить Федор Ушаков в период освобождения острова от французов. Она более иных многочисленных в городе почему-то своим уютом напоминала далёкую родину. Кстати, в те далёкие времена рядом с этой церковью был похоронен соратник Ушакова капитан - лейтенант российского флота Савицкий. Впоследствии церковь расширили и могила русского офицера теперь находится в самом здании церкви. Она аккуратно огорожена четырьмя стойками и является ещё одним ярким символом русского боевого духа...
Fedor Ushakov liked to go to this church during the period of the liberation of the island from the French. For some reason, it resembled a distant homeland more than other numerous in the city. By the way, in those distant times, next to this church, Ushakov's associate, captain - lieutenant of the Russian fleet Savitsky, was buried. The town of Corfu has so many churches and they are centuries old. I would definitely recommend a visit to saint Ioannis (Saint John the baptist) church as well as the other churches in the town, they're all special and unique.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful orthodox church in the shadow of the St. Spiridon church. Interesting layout with a L-shaped corridor around the main room. 15th century former cathedral. Beautiful shrine, local paintings and icons. Definitely wort the visit when open. At the left of the door, after you enter, is an information board in English.
