Νεμέας, αποτελει σημείο αναφοράς για τους Ορθόδοξους. Ο Ναός που υπηρετούσε ο Άγιος Νικόλαος Πλανάς, που έψαλλαν ο Αλέξανδρος Παπαδιαμάντης και ο Αλέξανδρος Μωραϊτίνης, που Πρωτοψάλτης του εχρηματισε στο τέλος της ζωής του ο Κωνσταντίνος Ψάχος. Μέχρι σήμερα παρουσιάζει έντονη ενοριακή και πνευματική ζωή με υπό την ασφαλή ποδηγεσια του Σεβασμιωτάτου Μητροπολίτου Γ.Ο.Χ. κ. Παγκρατίου, ο οποίος επί σαράντα και πλέον έτη, υπηρετεί αοκνως το ευσεβές εκκλησίασμα του ιστορικού αλλά και γραφικού αυτού Ναού. Η παράδοση - με την οποία συμφωνούν και οι αρχαιολόγοι - θέλει τον εν λόγω ιερό Ναό να βρίσκεται στον χώρο όπου ο Απόστολος των εθνών Παύλος, συνάντησε τον Βωμό προς τον Άγνωστο Θεό, όπως αναφέρεται στις Πράξεις των Αποστόλων. Σχετικές αναφορές βρίσκουμε από τον κορυφαίο Αθηναιογραφο, Αρχιτέκτονα - Πολεοδομο Κωνσταντίνο Ν. Μπίρη, σε άρθρο του στο περιοδικό "Ο Φυσιολάτρης" με τίτλο "Ο δρόμος του Παύλου προς τας Αθήνας" και από τον επίσης κορυφαίο ιστοριοδίφη Δ. Η. Καμπούρογλου στον "Αναδρομαρη Αττικής" ( έκδοση 1920) με τίτλο "ΤΟ ΠΗΓΆΔΙ ΤΩΝ ΣΤΕΝΑΓΜΩΝ". Επίσης στο 6τομο βιβλίο του έγκριτου Δικηγόρου και Εκδοτου τής τοπικής εφημερίδος "Νέα Σμύρνη" Αντωνίου Πανταζή. Τέλος σε μελέτη του που δημοσίευσε στο φύλλο της εφημερίδος "Η Νέα Σμύρνη" με αριθμό 29/349 της 16-7-39, ο τότε Προϊστάμενος του ι. Ναού Αγ. Φωτεινής, Θεολόγος-Αρχιμανδρίτης τότε και αργότερα Μητροπολίτης Παραμύθιας Τίτος Εμ. Ματθαιακης. Ομοίως και ο Παυσανίας μαρτυρεί περί του βωμού στον Άγνωστο Θεό ότι εβρισκετο επί της Φαληρικης οδού (Παυσανίου Ελλάδος περιήγησις, Τόμος Α'). The historic Holy Church of Saints Theodore, N. Smyrnis, the consecrated Church of the Holy Monastery of Saints Archangels Nemea, is a reference point for the Orthodox. The Church that was served by Saint Nicholas Planas, built by Alexander Papadiamantis and Alexander Moraitinis, which Constantine Psachos endowed with Protopsalt at the end of his life. To this day it has a vibrant parish and spiritual life under the safe guidance of His Eminence Metropolitan Goh. Mr. Pagkratiou, who has for over forty years been serving the pious church of this historic and picturesque church. Tradition - agreed by archaeologists - wants this sacred temple to be in the place where the Apostle of the nations Paul met the Altar to the Unknown God, as stated in the Acts of the Apostles. Related references are found by the leading Athenian painter, Architect - Town Planner Constantine N. Biri, in an article in "The Physiolatris" entitled "The Road of Paul to Athens" and also by the leading historian D. D. Kambouroglou. Attica "(1920 edition) entitled" THE BIRD OF SCREAMS ". Also in the 6th book of the acclaimed Lawyer and Publisher of the local newspaper "Nea Smyrni" Antoniou Pantazis. Finally in a study he published in the newspaper "The New Smyrna" number 29/349 of 16-7-39, the then Head of the Church of St. Fotini, Theologos-Archimandrite then and later Metropolitan of Paramythia Titus Em. Matthaiakis. Likewise, Pausanias testifies of the altar to the Unknown God that he was on the Faliric road (Pausanias of Greece tour, Volume I).
