★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο ναός βρίσκεται σε περίβολο με περιτοίχιση, μαζί με κάποια άλλα βοηθητικά κτίσματα, που παλαιότερα ήταν κελιά μοναχών, αφού κάποτε λειτούργησε ως Μονή Ταξιαρχών.
Εδώ έμεινε και ο φιλέλληνας Λόρδος Βύρων το 1820 κατά τη διαδρομή του προς το Σούνιο.
Σήμερα, ο χώρος αποτελεί συχνά σκηνικό γυρισμάτων για ταινίες ενώ στα βοηθητικά κτίσματα γίνεται η προετοιμασία του φαγητού για την πανήγυρη του ναού.
Ο ναός στη σημερινή του μορφή είναι μονόχωρη Μεταβυζαντινή βασιλική, με οικοδομική φάση της κυρίως Βυζαντινής περιόδου, κτισμένη πάνω στο κεντρικό κλίτος τρίκλιτης Παλαιοχριστιανικής βασιλικής.
Το τέμπλο φέρει παλαιοχριστιανικά και γλυπτά μέλη.
Ο ναός κοσμείται με τοιχογραφίες του 18ου αι. από την σχολή του Γεωργίου Μάρκου, ενώ ελάχιστες τοιχογραφίες ανάγονται στη Βυζαντινή περίοδο.
The church is located in a walled enclosure, along with some other ancillary buildings, which used to be monks' cells, since it once functioned as the Monastery of Taxiarches.
The philhellene Lord Byron also stayed here in 1820 on his way to Sounio.
Today, the space is often the setting for filming while in the ancillary buildings the food is prepared for the temple festival.
The church in its current form is a one-room Post-Byzantine basilica, with a building phase of the mainly Byzantine period, built on the central aisle of a three-aisled Early Christian basilica.
The iconostasis has early Christian and sculpted members.
The church is decorated with frescoes of the 18th century. from the school of George Mark, while few frescoes date back to the Byzantine period.
