★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο ναός χτίστηκε το 1864-1869 με δαπάνες των κατοίκων και η αρχιτεκτονική του ακολουθεί τον τύπο του πατριαρχικού ναού του Αγίου Γεωργίου Κωνσταντινούπολης.
Μαζί με το ιστορικό διδακτήριο «Θάνου Ζελέγκου 1872-1894», που βρίσκεται στο ίδιο οικοδομικό τετράγωνο, αποτέλεσε την καρδιά του ελληνισμού της Γουμένισσας και της επαρχίας της σε δύσκολες ιστορικές περιόδους.
The church was built in 1864-1869 at the expense of the inhabitants and its architecture follows the type of the patriarchal church of Agios Georgios in Istanbul.
Together with the historical school "Thanos Zelegos 1872-1894", located on the same building block, it was the heart of the Hellenism of Goumenissa and its province in difficult historical periods.
