★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Must see! This is the monastery St Gregory Palamas stayed and prayed for illumination before becoming the bishop of Thessalonica. Follow the path outside the monastery to get to the cave!
Unfortunately we did not know the visitor hours so we did not get to see the historic (1000 years old) church
