Hotel Despina - Agia Anna

Didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised ! Attentive owner, cost to the beach, way better bathroom than the rest of Greek hostels and nicely decorated

I couldn't reccomend this place more. Maria is such a beautiful host and made us feel right at home here. Thank you so much for keeping a beautiful hotel in Naxos. We will be back.

Second year staying at Hotel Despina, and it was just as good as the first. Very short walk to Agia Anna beach (and a little walk to either Plaka, or Agois Prokopios beaches), and there is a shop and ATM just across the street. The hosts are very friendly and have us feeling like we're family, rather than just guests. A wonderful place. Plan to stay here again on future trips to Naxos.

Clean, comfortable hotel, VERY FRIENDLY staff. They greeted us warmly, checked up on us often, mother brought us rice pudding on a few mornings. They were extremely nice to our grandchildren, and our families! We stayed in 3 separate rooms but had a nice small patio on 2 rooms, all of (7 in all) gathered on the larger patio. Grocery store with Piraeus bank ATM is LITERALLY steps away! ( 15 or less) - beach access is 5 minutes walk- multiple restaurants nearby. Bus stop nearby. Car and bike rental nearby! We WILL come here again!

Wonderful hotel just steps from Agia Anna beach. The welcome was as warm as you could wish for & the room was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Very spacious balcony (in family room). There is an ATM and mini market just across the street and a bus stop less than a minute's walk away. Highly recommend this place!

We stayed four nights here. It was everything we needed. It's very clean. location is super. Super market across the street, beside the bus stop, 2 minutes to a very pretty beach and good restaurants. I have heard that the WiFi is not good but for me, it was really ok and working. Owners are helpful and friendly. Recommended.

Pros: The hotel looks very nice, just like shown on the photos. The building is surrounded by a beautiful mediterranean garden from where the housekeeper offered fresh vegetables everyday. Maria, the host is very kind and helpful, she brought us welcome drink and snack to our room after our arrival. She was always where when needed and can fluently communicate in English, her and her family's presence made a very familiar atmosphere. On the last day after checkout they let us to leave our suitcases at the reception so that we could enjoy the beach before the departure of our ferry. The accomodation is in a great location near the best beaches of the island, especially Agia Anna beach. On the other side of the road there is an ATM and a supermarket selling basic goods and some beach equipments and a bus stop is nearby, but car rental places are also close in the street. We stayed in a studio with a double bed. The rooms where tidy and well equiped with basic kitchen supplements and everything else mentioned in the official description. It was very clean at our arrival and during our stay the staff cleaned every second day, they also offered frequently fresh washed sheets and towels. The furnitures were also appropriate, we had enough room to store our things. We were a little worried about the weak Wifi signal mentioned in previous comments, but fortunately we had no problem with it, it worked perfectly in our room, even at the terrace (it was located near the street with a view to illy Coffee bar). Overall we found our accomodation a value of money. Cons:We found the bed hard, but that's our special aspect, so we recommend this accomodation for those who prefer harder mattress and pillows for sleep. While showering the bathroom gets easily flooded by water due to short shower curtain, which is a common problem I have experienced in many accomodations in Greece. Disadvantage of great location is the noise coming from the streat where buses, cars, motorcycles pass by, which is more disturbing at night, when mosqitos also come. We solved it by closing the terrace doors for night and turned on the air-conditioner so that we could sleep more easily.
