★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mit einem weiteren Paar aus unserem Hotel CASTELLO ROSSO besuchten wir um 9 Uhr die Sonntagsmesse. Ich hatte meine Kamera und einen kleinen Rucksack dabei, da wir anschließend die "Kapellenwanderung" (grün gekennzeichneter Rundweg) unternehmen wollten. Nach ca. einer halben Stunde wurde ich von einem ca. 40-jährigen Griechen gefragt, ob ich griechisch sprechen würde. Auf englisch machte er mir dann klar, daß wir ab sofort in der Messe unerwünscht seien und die Kirche verlassen müssten. Was wir - auch andere deutsche Frauen kamen mit - umgehend respektierten. Es herrschte vor der Kirche eine grosse Verwirrung und wir begaben uns deshalb alleine auf den grünen Rundweg (siehe auch Fotos: "Spaziergang in NEA STIRA").

Hinweis/Insider-Tipp: Offensichtlich haben wir (auch das andere Paar) unfreiwillig mehrere Fehler begangen: Wir trennten uns nicht in die übliche Männer- und Frauenabteilung. Unser "Outfit" machte uns zu "ungläubigen Christen". Wenn wir uns auch noch etwas diskreter (ohne Kamera und Rucksack neben uns, denn wir konnten uns nicht setzen) verhalten hätten (wir standen zu allem Unglück auch noch vor
dem Heiligenbild, das die Einheimischen küssten), wäre dieses Problem nicht entstanden.
With another couple from our hotel CASTELLO ROSSO we visited the Sunday mass at 9 o'clock. I had my camera and a small backpack, as we then wanted to do the "Kapellenwanderung" (green marked trail). After about half an hour I was asked by a 40-year-old Greek, if I would speak Greek. In English, he then made it clear to me that from now on we would be unwanted in the mass and have to leave the church. What we - including other German women came with - immediately respected. There was a lot of confusion in front of the church and we went alone on the green circular path (see also photos: "walk in NEA STIRA").

Note / insider tip: Obviously, we (and the other couple) involuntarily made several mistakes: We did not part in the usual men's and women's department. Our "outfit" made us "unbelieving Christians". If we also behave a bit more discretely (without a camera and a backpack next to us, because we could not sit down) we would have behaved (we stood to all misfortunes too
the holy picture that the locals kissed), this problem would not have arisen.
