★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Βρίσκεται λίγο έξω από το Σπανοχώρι, χωριό της κεντρικής Λευκάδας. Ιδρύθηκε στα μέσα του 14ου αιώνα και μέχρι και το 1697 αποτελούσε την έδρα του εκάστοτε Αρχιεπισκόπου του νησιού.
Συνδέεται με τις δύο τοπικές εξεγέρσεις των χωρικών της Λευκάδας, την “Επανάσταση της βουκέντρας” (1357) κατά του Φράγκου ηγεμόνα Γρατιανού Τζώρτζη, την οποία υμνεί ο Αρ. Βαλαωρίτης στο “Φωτεινό” του και την εξέγερση του 1819 κατά των Άγγλων.
 It is located just outside Spanochori, a village in central Lefkada. It was founded in the middle of the 14th century and until 1697 was the seat of each Archbishop of the island.
It is related to the two local uprisings of the peasants of Lefkada, the "Revolution of Bucharest" (1357) against the Franciscan prince Gratiani Georgi, which is praised by Art. Balaurite in his "Bright" and the 1819 uprising against the English.
