Very beautiful religious site overlooking the caldera. Quiet and impressive... The access on foot (without particular difficulty) from the village offers magnificent views!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful spot overlooking the aegean blue and the entire santorini caldera, view on 3 sides. Relatively easy 2km walk from Manolas village along a dirt road (can also get "a taxi" on the back of a small track). On 15th August celebration, whole island gathers for a small festival - services start abt 07.00 and around 11.00 the procession circles the church. Coffee, cookies and a traditional meal follows (leave whatever you want for the monastery). Festivities scaled down apparently bc of covid. A serene and moving moment in the Cyclades.
