★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η Ιερά Μονή Παλαιοπαναγιάς, είναι ένα ιστορικό μοναστήρι, χτισμένο 7 χλμ. νότια του Άστρους Αρκαδίας και κοντά στο χωριό Μελιγού Αρκαδίας.
Το αρχικό όνομα της Μονής ήταν Αγία Ελεούσα, αλλά για την αποφυγή σύγχυσης με το κοντινό μοναστήρι της Αγίας Τριάδας Ελεούσας, άλλαξε και έγινε Παλαιοπαναγιά.
Ο χρόνος ιδρύσεώς της δεν είναι ακριβώς γνωστός αλλά σύμφωνα με τις τοπικές παραδόσεις η Μονή ιδρύθηκε το 1310.
Το 1826 η μονή καταστράφηκε από τον Ιμπραήμ Πασά. Από τότε μέχρι και το 1991 ανακαινίστηκε αρκετές φορές.
Το 1990, μετά τον θάνατο του τελευταίου ηγουμένου και μοναχού η μονή μετατράπηκε σε γυναικεία.
The Holy Monastery of Paleopanagia, is a historic monastery, built 7 km south of Astros Arcadia and near the village of Meligou Arcadia.
The original name of the Monastery was Agia Eleousa, but in order to avoid confusion with the nearby monastery of Agia Triada Eleousa, it was changed to Paleopanagia.
The time of its foundation is not exactly known but according to local traditions the monastery was founded in 1310.
In 1826 the monastery was destroyed by Ibrahim Pasha. From then until 1991 it was renovated several times.
In 1990, after the death of the last abbot and monk, the monastery was converted into a convent.
