Ιστορικές στιγμές γεμάτες συγκινήσεις έζησαν σήμερα το πρωί όσοι συμμετείχαν στα εγκαίνια του Αγίου Γεωργίου στο νέο Ψυχικό.
Πλήθος πιστών από νωρίς είχαν κατακλύσει τον ναό για να παρακολουθήσουν την ξεχωριστή ακολουθία των εγκαινίων.
«Από σήμερα αποκτήσατε μια πύλη για τον παράδεισο» είπε ο Μητροπολίτης Κορίνθου Διονύσιος ο οποίος με την συμμετοχή του Μητροπολίτη Ζακύνθου Διονυσίου και των Επισκόπων Ναζιανζού Θεοδωρήτου, Σαλώνων Αντωνίου και Θαυμακού Ιακώβου σφράγισαν την Αγία τράπεζα του ναού.
Καθ’ όλη την διάρκεια της τελετής ο Μητροπολίτης Κορίνθου εξηγούσε στον κόσμο τι συμβαίνει εκείνη την στιγμή για να μπορεί να κατανοήσει την ακολουθία των εγκαινίων.
Μετά την τελετή των εγκαινίων ο δήμαρχος του Ψυχικού Παντελής Ξυριδάκης με τον προϊστάμενο του ναού Αρχιμανδρίτη Μιχαήλ Σταθάκη άναψαν τα καντήλια του τέμπλου καθώς ο Δήμος Φιλοθέης – Ψυχικού ο ίδιος ο δήμαρχος και το δημοτικό συμβούλιο ήταν στήριγμα στα έργα του ναού αλλά και στην προετοιμασία των εγκαινίων.
Στο τέλος οι ιερείς του ναού μοίρασαν κομμάτια από το ύφασμα που χρησιμοποιήθηκε για να πλυθεί η Αγία τράπεζα για ευλογία των πιστών.
Ο π. Μιχαήλ ευχαρίστησε από καρδίας τους ιεράρχες που τέλεσαν τα εγκαίνια του δικού τους ναού και τον κόσμο που βοήθησε για να γίνει μια άρτια οργάνωση
