★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is in my opinion the best place to buy fish in Sparta.
But first, let's clarify one thing. Since Sparta has no port, fish are coming to the local market from various sources, such as towns/villages from the southern part of region like Gytheio and Neapolis or from the main fish market of Piraeus. That means the fish you will find in this market or any of the markets in Sparta won't be as fresh as if you bought it from one of the aforementioned places.
Now, in general, the fish offered are of good quality and quite fresh and the prices are normal, although a bit higher than if you bought it from a place by the sea, which is reasonable as it includes transportation costs.
What is best about this place is that you can go there, pick the fish you like, pay, and ask to be delivered to your place cooked and ready to eat!
We have used this service several times and we were very happy.
Finally, the owners and the staff are very helpful and polite.
