The place is amazing. We went there for the guided tour. It costs 8euros per person and lasts for 30 minutes. The tour is excellent, the guide is willing to answer any question. Next time we will stay at the hotel, its a must!

Went for breakfast today (you can book this without staying at the hotel), a lovely selection of breads and jams but the star was the young lady who served who was really helpful and attentive. Definitely recommend and can't wait to return!

Stray cats on our bed with the excuse that cats where already there before the hotel (like they are the legacy or something) . cats hairs in the sheets..... poor breakfast.

A rare hotel, the best management, the service quality is high, and the most important thing is to experience the food and the view. Thank you for a pleasant and unforgettable stay every time.

Beautiful hotel, full of history and charming spaces. Excellent gastronomy and service. Recommendation: ask for the building tour, it’s interesting and worthy, helps you understand and appreciate the building and its restoration process. Next time I’ll come during the summer!

With the intention to test their cuisine, I went there on Sunday. Doors locked, lights switched off, no movement inside. Only notice on doors saying that guided tours for visitors are during some day hours for a small fee. No notice of closure, nor a phone number to call. Nothing. Just locked and closed. I experienced street vendors with a better customer service. I would not give it 3 stars. How can they label this as a 5-star hotel with fine dining and charge 600USD per nigh at this level of service is a mystery to me. Location is old town uphill, i.e. wonderful to be there but horrible to arrive. The hotel does not offer any parking facility and the on-street parking is difficult in this area. Park in the town and then walk uphill tiny pathwalks where a child stroll would not fit, 5 to 10 minutes depending how far you parked. I gave 2 stars thanks to the architecture and style, otherwise it would be zero.

Even if you are not staying, it is worth visiting when i Kavala, take the guided tour and experience your afternoon tea or evening drinks. A living piece of history, well-preserved and elevated to luxury hotel status. Great views overlooking the port.
