★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rolf recently surveyed a 34ft mid 80s yacht for us in Greece.
We have bought lots of boats but never sea vessels and we employed Rolf on instinct because he was very informative upfront and helpful on telephone on first enquiry.
Rolf is busy and has long lead times but the quality of his work is worth the wait. He was quick to respond and provided useful procedural advice in the lead up to the survey.
The report itself was exceptionally thorough and very easy to understand. It was laid out in terms of urgency of works that would be required and recommended both immediately before navigation and advisory and dangerous. In the end it saved us from a purchase which would have been completely wrong for our family. I am so relieved we employed Rolf and we will certainly be employing him again when we find another potential purchase.

We used Rolf Thunecke to survey and sea trial the Jeanneau 45DS we remotely purchased, whilst we were still in New Zealand.
Rolf was recommended by a trusted New Zealand yacht broker.
He was a clear communicator, who helped us through the whole process, which was quite daunting for us, never having purchased a yacht sight unseen before.
His report was very thorough and was exactly what we found when we finally arrived at the yacht months later.
We are also going to have a training day with him upon launching to help us get familiar with the systems and equipment.
I would highly recommend Rolf at Ionion Marine Surveys to do Surveys, and sea trials.

I felt I really knew the boat before I brought it. Not only was I confidant I knew what I was buying but also I also got a price reduction too. If you are looking for a good surveyor I would highly recommend Rolf.
