IONION BEACH HOTEL APARTMENTS & SPA - Ilias

Beautiful picturesque place. Would stay there just for the excellent breakfast buffet and restaurant. Servers are extremely nice and helpful. Popular with German retirees and Italian families. Beach is horrible though, full of rocks and urchins, can't step into water enough to swim out. Great public beach and parking 10 minutes away next to Grecotel Hotel. Had feminine hygiene waste from previous vacationer in my trash can for 3 days before housekeeping finally emptied it. Housekeeping services room daily, weird thing is sometimes around 11am, sometimes around 5 pm. Housekeeping has an annoying habit of opening your window which cuts off your air conditioning on her way out. I paid €125 a night. Spoke to other guests who paid €80 a night for the exact same room, unfair. Hotel owners are very nice and very hard working. But warning: when sitting on the huge wonderful white couch in the lobby, do not put your feet on the small table in front of you!

There is a policy of mask wearing, but there is NO masks in the hotel, so I couldn’t eat my breakfast:( The owner was yelling at us, when we explained about the way of payment.

I was only a visitor but was able to enjoy the pool area and the restaurant. Both were great. Staff was polite and helpful. Really well build hotel

Very good Hotel. Perfect for families and if you want to get a good rest. Amazing landscape, very good restaurant by the beach. Very clean. It's worth visiting.

The rooms were nice and clean. Literally ALL members of staff were very polite and helpful. The pool was a good size. The spa is a small one but offers a variety of options. The only thing is the sea....it is quite rocky so I personally did not enjoy it much. The hotel as such however, was great and so was breakfast ;)

Perfect place! Highly recomended! Owned by very nice family. Great service, very modern place, very good food with local ingredients from own garden. Stayed for week and loved it for 100%. Very good pool for kids and adults. Rooms equiped perfectly. Great view.

I went there for three dyas after seeing the positive reviews. Overall the stay was "just OK". Pros: The owner was polite and willing to help wherever and whenever something was needed. The rooms are clean and the surroundings (Garden, Pool, Cafebar etc.) have been also in a very good shape. Cons: The people working there (except a young man in the Restaurant/Bar) had been impolite and they didn't made you feel welcome. The Waiter in the Restaurant forgot multiple times our order, took to long to bring the order, was never laughing and behaved towards us like we had been 2nd class people. At the table next to us with Germans he made jokes, spoke German and guess what... he was also laughing. Maybe I should have spoken some German for a better Service. Also a middle Age woman responsible at the Breakfast buffet had the same reaction. If the owner decides to improve the Service Mentality and speak to this two Key figures Im sure you can have a nice time.

We had booked 5 days at this hotel, unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to a cyclone that weather reports indicated that the eye would hit directly over the hotel. When we requested of the manager would allow us to leave two days early he required we pay 40% of the remaining two days, very dissatisfied. When I told him two years previously less that a kilometer from the hotel a resort was destroyed he denied it. The hotel had already covered all of their beach facilities and I suspect they lost electricity. The area ended up suffering great damage, restaurants were closed and there was wide spread flooding. Leaving early was a wise decision, unfortunately we paid for nearly a full day. Our concern was for our safety, they should refund our penalty especially since they shut down Booking.com because they must have had issues. We would have been trapped, the government told people to shelter in place and we would not have been able to have access to food for two days. News reports in the area indicated many issues. Frankly the management should have encouraged people to check out not stay, very very irresponsible. To provide balance I do want to say that this is an excellent faculty, good breakfast and nice rooms. The pool and beach was nice. We did not eat dinner there due to our early departure.
