P	Panagiotis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Πολύ ωραίο και καθαρό καταφύγιο, με μεγάλο σαλόνι. Ιδανικό για μία εξόρμηση στην Οστρακίνα. Εκτός από τα μονοπάτια που καταλήγουν ή περνάνε από το καταφύγιο, η πρόσβαση γίνεται και με αυτοκίνητο μόλις 15 λεπτά από τον Νέο Καρδαρά ή 30 λεπτά από Βυτίνα. Very nice and clean shelter, with a large living room. Ideal for a trip to Ostrakina. In addition to the paths that end or pass through the shelter, access is by car just 15 minutes from Neos Kardaras or 30 minutes from Vytina.
M	Manos Papakalodoukas on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ανεβήκαμε στο καταφύγιο, 29-30 Φεβρουαρίου, μαζί με την ομαδάρα μας Mountain Activities Team, κόψαμε την Πίτα, το καταφύγιο βρίσκεται σε άριστη κατάσταση, πεντακάθαρο, με άψογη εξυπηρέτηση, φιλικά πρόσωπα φαγητά νοστιμότατα, από την Κ'Ελένη, και τα υπόλοιπα παιδιά Κώστας, Γιώργος με την καλή διάθεση και χαμόγελο στα χείλη, και βέβαια ο Επικεφαλής, Άρης απίστευτος μας έδειξε τη σημαινει Αρκαδική Φιλοξενία, πραγματικά δεν έχω λόγια τους ευχαριστούμε μέσα από την καρδιά μας, και θα συνεχίσουμε να πηγαίνουμε!!!! Το καταφύγιο είναι κόμβος που περνάνε πολλά μονοπάτια, και ανάβαση στην κορυφή του ψηλότερου βουνού της Αρκαδίας την Οστρακίνα We went to the shelter, February 29-30, together with our team Mountain Activities Team, we cut the Pita, the shelter is in excellent condition, spotless, with impeccable service, friendly food delicious, by K'Eleni, and the other children Costas, George with the good mood and a smile on his face, and of course the Leader, Aris unbelievably showed us what Arcadian Hospitality means, I really have no words to thank them from the bottom of our hearts, and we will continue to go !!!! T	Thanasis Dellopoulos on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Το Μαίναλο είναι ένας τεράστιος ορεινός όγκος με πολλά μονοπάτια που συνδέουν χωριά που έχουν διαδραματίσει σημαντικό ρόλο στην ιστορία της Ελλάδας. Το καταφύγιο του Μαινάλου αποτελεί μια καλή αφετηρία για να περπατήσετε αυτά τα μονοπάτια. Πολλοί ορειβάτες έχουν συνδέσει το καταφύγιο με την χειμερινή περίοδο και μόνο, όμως ο νέος διαχειριστής του καταφυγίου το λειτουργεί κάθε Σαββατοκύριακο και είναι πρόθυμος να σας βοηθήσει στις ορεινές σας περιπλανήσεις στην περιοχή. Αξίζει λοιπόν να βοηθήσουμε αυτήν την προσπάθεια γιατί τα ανοιχτά καταφύγια δεν εξυπηρετούν μόνο εμάς, αλλά συμβάλουν στην οικοτουριστική ανάπτυξη μιας περιοχής. Mainalo is a huge mountain mass with many paths that connect villages that have played an important role in the history of Greece. The shelter of Mainalo is a good starting point to walk these paths. Many climbers have linked the shelter to the winter season alone, but the new shelter manager operates it every weekend and is willing to help you with your mountain walks in the area. So it is worth helping this effort because the open shelters do not only serve us, but contribute to the ecotourism development of an area.
