C	C.A.V. KLAOUDATOS on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Πλατεία και το Άγαλμα του Παναγή Βαλλιάνου Η Πλατεία και το Άγαλμα του Παναγή Βαλλιάνου βρίσκονται στο κέντρο του Αργοστολίου. Στο νότιο τμήμα της τα εστιατόρια και οι καφετέριες που βρίσκονται πέριξ, βγάζουν τραπεζάκια για τους πελάτες τους. Πήρε το όνομά της από τον Κεφαλονίτη ευεργέτη Παναγή Βαλλιάνο, ο ανδριάντας του οποίου βρίσκεται σήμερα στο πάνω μέρος της πλατείας. Ο Παναγής Βαλλιάνος γεννήθηκε το 1814 στις Κεραμειές της Κεφαλονιάς. Μέλος μιας φτωχής οικογένειας με έξι παιδιά, δεν πήγε ποτέ σχολείο και μόνο αργότερα στην ζωή του έμαθε στοιχειώδη γραφή και ανάγνωση. Παρόλ' αυτά, τρία από τα έξι αδέρφια Βαλλιάνου κατόρθωσαν να δημιουργήσουν έναν από τους μεγαλύτερους οίκους της εποχής στο Λονδίνο και να γίνουν πάμπλουτοι από το εμπόριο. Διέθεσαν μεγάλο μέρος από τα πλούτη τους στην πατρίδα, κάνοντας δωρεές: η Εθνική Βιβλιοθήκη της Ελλάδας οφείλει τη δημιουργία της στον Παναγή Βαλλιάνο, σ’ αυτόν τον αγράμματο Κεφαλονίτη έμπορο. Πέθανε στο Λονδίνο το 1902. Το άγαλμα του Βαλλιάνου στο Αργοστόλι είναι έργο ενός από τους σημαντικότερους Έλληνες καλλιτέχνες, του Ληξουριώτη γλύπτη Γεωργίου Μπονάνου και δημιουργήθηκε στις αρχές του 20ού αιώνα. Τότε τοποθετήθηκε στην μέση της πλατείας Βαλλιάνου, ενώ αργότερα μεταφέρθηκε στην σημερινή του θέση, στο πάνω μέρος. Square and the Statue of Panayi Vallianos The Panagi Vallianou Square and Statue are located in the center of Argostoli. In the southern part of the restaurants and cafes around, they make tables for their clients. It was named after Kefalonitic benefactor Panayi Valliano, whose statue is today at the top of the square. Panagis Vallianos was born in Keramies in Kefalonia in 1814. A member of a poor family with six children, he never went to school and only later in his life he learned elementary writing and reading. Nevertheless, three of the six Vallianos brothers managed to create one of the biggest houses of the time in London and become more than just the trade. They donated much of their wealth to their homeland, making donations: the National Library of Greece owes its creation to Panayi Vallianos, to this illustrious Kefalonitian merchant. He died in London in 1902. The statue of Vallianos in Argostoli is the work of one of the most important Greek artists, the Lixurian sculptor George Bonanos and was created in the early 20th century. Then he was placed in the middle of Vallianos Square, and later moved to his present position, at the top.
Χ	ΧΡΙΣΤΙΝΑ Μαμα on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Όμορφη πλατεία μεγάλη ιδανική για να παίζουν τα παιδιά με ασφάλεια χωρίς να κινδυνεύουν από αυτοκίνητα αλλά θα προτιμούσα πιο πολύ πράσινο κ να ειχαν προσέξει περισσότερο οι τεχνικοι την κατασκευή της.προτιμουσα πιο πολύ το μάρμαρο γιατί αυτό όπως λίγο λερωθεί φαίνεται άσχημα!!!γι'αυτό ας της προσέχουμε καλύτερα!!! Beautiful square great for kids to play safely without being in danger from cars but I would have preferred more green and the technicians would have paid more attention to its construction. let's take better care of her !!!
