Με πολλές καφετέριες γύρω γύρω για να κάτσεις και να πιεις ένα καφέ ή και τσίπουρο αργότερα. Εδώ υπάρχει και το περίφημο γαλλικό συντριβάνι του 1918 με τα δυο κεφάλια των λεόντων της ελευθερίας και της δικαιοσύνης. Από Θεσσαλονίκη η Γουμένισσα απέχει 69χλμ.
A very nice square, groomed with (9) plane trees and endless shade and coolness next to running water. With many cafes around to sit and drink a coffee or tsipouro later. Here is the famous French fountain of 1918 with the two heads of the lions of freedom and justice. Goumenissa is 69 km from Thessaloniki.

Η Γουμένισσα είναι η πρωτεύουσα της επαρχίας Παιονίας του Νομού Κιλκίς. Από το 1387 βρισκόταν υπό Οθωμανική κατοχή και απελευθερώθηκε στις 23 Οκτωβρίου 1912 στη μάχη των Γιαννιτσών.
Γάλλοι στρατιώτες έκτισαν και το Συντριβάνι στην κεντρική πλατεία, ως ανάμνηση της διέλευσής τους.
Οι άλλες πλατείες της Γουμένισσας είναι η πλατεία 23ης Οκτωβρίου και η πλατεία των Μακεδονομάχων.
One of the three squares and the main square of Goumenissa, is the square of Thanos Zelegos.
Goumenissa is the capital of the province of Paionia in the prefecture of Kilkis. From 1387 it was under Ottoman occupation and was liberated on October 23, 1912 in the battle of Giannitsa.
French soldiers also built the Fountain in the central square, as a commemoration of their passage.
The other squares of Goumenissa are the square of October 23 and the square of the Macedonians.
