Στην αρχή του νέου έτους αναβιώνει ένα αρχέγονο έθιμο με ρίζες τόσο βαθιές που φτάνουν στα διονυσιακά μυστήρια. Κάτοικοι της Καλλιφίτου, ντυμένοι με προβιές και έχοντας βαμένα πρόσωπα, συμμετέχουν σε ένα χορευτικό δρώμενο σε ποντιακούς ρυθμούς .
Τους χορευτές μομώγερους ακολουθεί σατιρικό θεατρικό στα ποντιακά και στη συνέχεια κάλεσμα όλων των επισκεπτων να πάρουν μέρος στο χορό. Οι γυναίκες του χωριού έχουν ετοιμάσει και προσφέρουν ποντιακά φαγητά.
