★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So far, I only had Ethiopian food in London. I must say the food at Kionia was far superior. The owner was extremely helpful, he even agreed to make me a smaller portion which was still enough for about three people. Beautiful, colourful food full of lovely spices and variety. I had he vegan option and the Ethiopian bread is even gluten-free. A delightful place that I can’t recommend enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best Ethiopian restaurants we've been to! Had both a spicy beef dish and also the vegitarian "fasting" option. They got the kitchen going just for us and made a lovely, complicated meal served on delicious bread. Loved the Greek salad on the side too. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing food; huge vegan platter with all the goods on a massive Ethiopian flatbread, also had the red meat dish with a deliciously spiced sauce! Spice levels vary on demand so everyone feels comfortable. On top of that, the service is very friendly and gives a truly cosy atmosphere combined with the right music. I recommend this place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seems like majority of Athens ratings are inflated, so when I saw the 5/5 rating, I was expecting a 4.5/5 type restaurant when rated elsewhere. Needless to say, this restaurant lives up to the rating. The gored gored is the best I have had yet, and I have had a lot of gored gored over the years. Would recommend to anyone who loves good eats. It's a gem.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing, authentic food. We had the spicy red beef and the fasting meal. Both were incredible. The fasting meal especially, it had so many different flavours. The best Ethiopian food I've ever had. Could not recommended enough.

We had both the vegan option as well as the dish with the red beef and I honestly can't say which was better, either is a great.
The service deserves special praise too. The cook was there to explain the options to us and offered to fix the dishes to our specific needs when it came to degree of spiciness.
Overall a great experience, we really felt catered to. Would totally recommend for any occasion.
