Μία συλλογή από φωτογραφίες και βίντεο φέρνουν στην επιφάνεια τις διαδικασίες που εξελίσσονται παράλληλα σε διαφορετικά σημεία του έργου, κάτω από τη γη και πίσω από τις εργοταξιακές περιφράξεις. Με ξεναγό τον φωτογραφικό και κινηματογραφικό φακό ο επισκέπτης περιηγείται σε αθέατους τόπους: από τις αρχαίες σήραγγες, τις δεξαμενές και το ρωμαϊκό υδραγωγείο, στις σύγχρονες σήραγγες των υπόγειων σταθμών του Μετρό και στα εργαστήρια συντήρησης της ανασκαφής. Εστιάζει στις σύγχρονες διεπιστημονικές μεθόδους που εφαρμόζονται για τη συλλογή και τεκμηρίωση των αρχαιολογικών δεδομένων στο πλαίσιο ενός μεγάλου κοινωφελούς έργου, όπως είναι η κατασκευή του υπόγειου σιδηροδρόμου. Αφηγείται με σύγχρονα εποπτικά μέσα τις ιστορίες πίσω από τις κατασκευές, αυτές που φτιάχτηκαν σε μακρινές εποχές αλλά και τις σύγχρονες. Στο σύγχρονο βιομηχανικό κτήριο όπου φιλοξενείται η έκθεση λειτουργεί παράλληλα και το εργαστήριο συντήρησης και καταγραφής των ευρημάτων που προήλθαν από τις ανασκαφές του Μετρό στον Πειραιά. Πιλοτικά, για ένα δοκιμαστικό τουλάχιστον διάστημα, το κοινό θα μπορεί να παρακολουθεί από τους εξώστες του κτηρίου την προσπάθεια των ανθρώπων να συντηρήσουν, να αναδείξουν και να μελετήσουν τα αρχαία κατάλοιπα. Την έκθεση πλαισιώνουν εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα, σχεδιασμένα με ζωντάνια, ώστε τα παιδιά να κατανοούν τι γίνεται σε μια ανασκαφή και πώς συντηρούνται τα ευρήματα. In a modern exhibition space, the exhibition presents to the public the parallel development of archaeological exploration and construction work on the Extension of Metro Line 3 in Piraeus. A collection of photos and videos brings to light the processes that are taking place at different points in the project, beneath the ground and behind the construction site. Guided by a photographic and cinematic lens, the visitor travels to unfamiliar sites: from ancient tunnels, tanks and the Roman aqueduct, to modern underground tunnels in the Underground stations and excavation maintenance workshops. It focuses on modern interdisciplinary methods used to collect and document archaeological data in the context of a major public utility project, such as the construction of the Underground. It tells through modern surveillance the stories behind the constructions, those that were made in distant and modern times. The modern industrial building where the exhibition is hosted also operates the maintenance and recording laboratory of the findings that came from the Metro excavations in Piraeus. Piloting, for at least a trial period, the public will be able to watch from the building's balconies as people attempt to conserve, highlight and study ancient remains. The exhibition features educational programs designed to help children understand what is happening at an excavation and how the findings are maintained.

I	Ioannis Paisis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful place to learn about the construction of the Piraeus metropolitan railway line and the ancient history of this city. There are many information about the excavations of every station and the restoration process of the antiquities. Very informative exhibition. Definitely worth a visit! Entrance is free of charge.
