Το 1966 ολοκληρώνεται η κατασκευή του εργοστασίου στη Λάρυμνα και το 1968 ολοκληρώνεται η κατασκευή οικισμού για τους εργαζομένους και τις οικογένειές τους.
Το μετάλλευμα που γίνεται αντικείμενο εκμετάλλευσης από την εταιρεία είναι ο νικελιούχος λειμωνίτης.
Τα κοιτάσματα που εκμεταλλεύεται η εταιρεία υφίστανται επιφανειακή εξόρυξη (μέθοδος ανοικτού φρέατος) ενώ μόνο το 2% εξορύσσονται υπόγεια. Το τελικό αποτέλεσμα είναι κοκκοποιημένο σιδηρονικέλιο υψηλής καθαρότητας, χαμηλής περιεκτικότητας σε άνθρακα, το οποίο χρησιμοποιείται αποκλειστικά στην παραγωγή ανοξείδωτου χάλυβα και διακινείται από το λιμάνι της Λάρυμνας.
LARCO was founded in 1963 by Prodromos Athanasiadis Bodosakis.
In 1966 the construction of the factory in Larymna is completed and in 1968 the construction of a settlement for the workers and their families is completed.
The ore that is being exploited by the company is nickel-plated leimonite.
The deposits exploited by the company are surface mined (open well method) while only 2% are mined underground. The end result is granulated iron nickel of high purity, low carbon content, which is used exclusively in the production of stainless steel and is shipped from the port of Larymna.
