★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a hidden but obvious gem set up on the hill a single track road leads up to a wonderful fort. Free entry for amazing views. Such a shame that there is no authorities looking after the site especially as there is Mycenaean architecture there! Well worth a visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great site! This was a little hard to find, with a small winding road going uphill. The road needs some repairs, and we weren’t sure if it was the right way. But with google maps we managed.
And when you get up, there are some terrific views! And a nice breeze in the +35C heat. Bring your own water though, bc when we arrived there was no one else up there. So no stall with drinks or anything.
Castle was free to visit, and you can climb anything you can / want. Not sure if that’s a good idea, but anyway. Castle seems pretty well preserved, and one can clearly see the layout, and the different building periods. Would visit again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The location is absolutely stunning but the castle is not organized yet. I still recommend to visit it before it gets more tourism oriented since it's a beautiful and peaceful setting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great ruins to visit, the view is stunning and it was really quiet when we were there. The Wild flowers popping up for the start of spring were stunning. There is no entry fee.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful historic castle. But feels totally abandoned and unsafe. The road leading to the castle is narrow, full of bends, and deep pits. The gate is always open and there is no security whatsoever. None. No tour guides, no officials, no front desk, no security personnel. The place feels totally abandoned. Soccer club graffitis on the ancient walls, trash all over, and a torn Greek flag. My friend and I felt very unsafe. If anything happens to you up there (from spraining your ankle to getting mugged), good luck to you. No point to call for help because there’s nobody around to listen or help. Go only if you’re very adventurous, at your own risk. It’s really a petty because the castle itself is actually beautiful and the views are mesmerizing. But the state is totally failing to exhibit this world-class historic landmark.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I saw this castle while driving from Nafplio to Olympia. So amazing. It’s big but the tour won’t take long. Goes back to the BC era. Google maps routed me wrong. The road up is on the far side of the mountain from Argos. It’s a short drive from Nafplio to get here. Check it out if you get the chance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very beautiful and underrated place. The palace was very interesting. The view was breathtaking, as we could see other mountins, the sea and the city.
