Πριν από το 1881 ονομαζόταν Πλατεία Αγοράς οπότε με την ενσωμάτωση της στο ελεύθερο Ελληνικό κράτος πήρε τη σημερινή της ονομασία. Το 1950 μεταφέρθηκαν στην πλατεία αυτή 4 από τις μουσες που κοσμουσαν την πλατεία Ομονοιας στο Κλινον Αστυ και έκτοτε έγιναν το "σήμα κατατεθέν" της μικρής αυτής θεσσαλικης πόλης. The central square of the city of Karditsa with the busy cafes. Before 1881 it was called Agora Square, so with its integration into the free Greek state it got its current name. In 1950, 4 of the museums that adorned Omonia Square in Klinon Asty were transferred to this square and since then they have become the "trademark" of this small Thessalian city.

C	Connie Massa Bear on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Πολλές κακοτεχνίες ακόμη και με τα καινούργια πλακακια....το συντριβάνι άκρως επικίνδυνο και ως προς τα υλικα που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν και ως προς την τοποθεσία!!να επισημάνω δε οτι ουδείς γνωρίζει την ιστορία του αλλά ούτε κ τον συμβολισμό του...σε αντίθετη περίπτωση δε νομίζω ότι οι ορθόδοξοι καρδιτσιωτες θα θέλανε κάτι τέτοιο στο κέντρο της πόλης ( προσωπική εκτίμηση πάντα).. Και εδώ πάλι συναντάμε πολλά περιστέρια κ αρκετά αδέσποτα Many defects even with the new tiles .... the fountain is extremely dangerous both in terms of the materials used and in terms of the location !! to point out that no one knows its history or its symbolism ... In this case, I do not think that the orthodox people of Karditsa would want something like this in the center of the city (personal appreciation always) .. Here again we meet many pigeons and many strays
N	Nick Petropoulos on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η μεγαλύτερη πλατεία της Καρδίτσας, σημείο συνάντησης με εμπορικά καταστήματα στους γύρω δρόμους καφέ και τράπεζες! Στην πλατεία δεσπόζει το μεγάλο συντριβάνι με τα 4 σημεία του ορίζοντα αλλά χρειάζεται οπωσδήποτε μια συντήρηση γιατί έχει αφεθεί στη μοίρα του.. Επίσης θα δείτε και το έφιππο άγαλμα του Γεωργίου Καραϊσκάκη. The largest square in Karditsa, meeting point with shops in the surrounding streets cafes and banks! The square is dominated by the big fountain with the 4 points of the horizon, but it is definitely a maintenance because it has been left to its fate. You will also see the on horseback statue of Georgios Karaiskakis.

Z	Z. Nikos on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Karditsa's central square is a meeting point for all locals and a historical place in the heart of the city. There is a fountain in one side that can be used as a compass (there are indicators for the four cardinal directions) and attests to the neolithic presence of the nearby area through the symbols of ancient civilizations. On the other side of the square there is the very new (2018) statue of the national hero of independence Georgios Karaiskakis who was a child of the Karditsa area.
