Good hostel, helpful stuff, close to bus station.

This is just a place to sleep, nothing more. I guess due to covid there's no common area for a place to sit and meet the other hostel travelers. It's really far from the town center, you'll need a bus to go anywhere. The way from the bus station to the entrance at night is dark and located in a deserted area so it feels a bit not nice walking there alone at 12 am for 3 minutes to get "home". The dorm room for 8 women was with an equipped kitchen, a nice sofa and big tv, great air conditioning, 2 clean bathrooms and 2 toilets. There's a loocker for each guest to put his belongings. There was no way to hang something like a curtain around the bed for some privacy.

Read the review and decided to give this hotel/hostel a shot. Like many mentioned, this is a great place to sleep. There is not much around the hostel so be prepared to walk to the station, if you come from the airport it would likely need to be transferred that would cost €3.40 total. Coming from Corfu town you can take line 7 and would cost about €1.70. Staff: The day time receptionist wasn’t friendly. A few times I almost felt attacked when I wasn’t standing the the correct area to check in or unapologetic attitude. I asked a few questions regarding bike rental, recommended places, she straight up told me she doesn’t know anything, they just put the flyers up. When asked about beaches in Corfu, I was told “all beaches are good, I don’t know” it looks like the same feedback was given in some other reviews. Also when the check in is 3pm, and the room is ready at 3:25pm, yet a late check out would be assessed, that is something maybe could be improved. However the night time gentlemen was really nice and gave good recommendations on the island. Seems like it’s hit or miss. Cleanliness: 4 The facility is converted from a prison and while everything is practically brand new, I found that that bathroom’s cleanliness (on the hostel part can be better) very fragile shower curtains hanging that make it almost seems like you are showering with another person. Location: 1 I would strongly advise not to walk alone at night since the property is in front of an abandoned garage that has very limited lighting, but once you cross the sketchy part everything is very nice. During the day time is it quite noisy because there are elementary school kids near by. I was very unlucky at night since we had a roommate who snored all night and the rest of us all didn’t have a good night sleep. (But it’s a hostel, what can we do) After all, 10 years of traveling and reviewing over 100 hostels I must not recommend Local Hostel and Suite to young backpackers unless you have a car. The back and forth to the city would add about €3-4 euro each day, there’s not much social aspect to it and it seems like there are areas that have so much potential at this place that it’s exciting to see how it can evolve to in the future. But for the time being, stay in Corfu town or go straight to the beach area like Kevos or Agios Gordios where they understand more about the hostel industry, more hospital, cost less, and have things to do!

Brand new place fully equipped, bit to much people in the room 8-10. But you have a locker, a bottle of water in it. Walked there from the airport now I know the bus 7 is the right choice, might the hostel should mention how to reach them. At the night from the main road there is 2 road ca 150m to the hostel no lights bit scarry, choose the left one because on the right one a dog will barking at you from a private property ?‍?and its isnt funny because you cant see the fence is there or not… fix the light please. Overall a good place.

Air-conditioning was on all night long & they took the remote. Had to find them to turn it off because it was way too cold. Bathroom drains need fix up, the floors are always flooded. Loud kindergarden next to it

I don't understand other people's complaints. The hostel gives you a set of fluffy towels and water, and there are huge lockers with keys! There rooms and the bathrooms are spacious and clean. People on the reception helped me with the complicated arrangements with my luggage, even though they didn't have to. The area is quiet, next to a big supermarket, it's absolutely safe here. You can walk to the town or take a bus, and the bus station to the island's other attractions is close by.
