Μπραβο! very sweet small theater. We listened to Christmas carols and songs from operas organized by the municipality and we were impressed. Well done!

Το θέατρο θεμελιώθηκε το 1905 και εγκαινιάστηκε με πανηγυρική τελετή το 1910. Έκτοτε σημάδεψε την πολιτιστική ζωή της πόλης. Τα σχέδιά του εκπόνησε ο Αναστάσιος Μεταξάς, ένας από τους καλύτερους αρχιτέκτονες της εποχής, έχοντας σαν πρότυπο το αυστριακό θέατρο και ακολουθώντας τα αρχιτεκτονικό στίλ -της μόδας τότε- του Νέου Μπαρόκ. The Malliaropoulio Municipal Theater was donated to Tripoli by Ioannis Malliaropoulos (1847-1919), an art-loving and visionary doctor. The theater was founded in 1905 and inaugurated with a solemn ceremony in 1910. Since then it has marked the cultural life of the city. His designs were prepared by Anastasios Metaxas, one of the best architects of the time, having as a model the Austrian theater and following the architectural styles -of the fashion then- of the New Baroque.
