★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great experience!!!
Try the pizza with the Truffle oil, you'll not regret it. Authentic italian flavours in an urban neighborhood at the city of Athens.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just lovely. Great service and most importantly, not pretentious. I rarely had so good pasta outside of Italy. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my favorite restaurant in Athens. While it takes a bit of effort to get here (blue line metro or cab) from the usual attractions it is more than worth the effort. The owner makes his pasta daily and cooks your meal to order. I had the linguine and clams and my wife had the. Carbonara, quite possibly the best meal we had in 10 days in Greece and we had many amazing meals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden Gem! I never expected to find such a place in this small street. If you like authentic Italian pasta you should visit this restaurant. Excellent choice of seasonal plates too. Every time I will be around will definitely visit it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you could find a treasure in the middle of a residential area, then that is what Maltagliati is. Located in the middle of Ampelokipoi neighborhood, the restaurant offers house cooked quality, fresh raw materials and excellent house wine. Do not forget to order for the garlic sauced bread as a entre. On a daily basis, the restaurant serves excellent fresh pasta, having a rotation on the recipes to accompany them. 5' from the metro station or 3' from a local parking garage, the restaurant is an easily accessible place either for a normal late lunch or even a simple but meaningful dinner on a Friday or Saturday night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stumbled upon this spot online, and we decided to try it out. It's a small and personal restaurant which totally works out for it. The ambience is lovely. We went there around 6 I believe? It had just opened for the afternoon. We were warned that any food we'd order would take a while. The service took its time to bring us the menu and then only later he came to explain the different pasta for us (they had just opened so I guessed the person was busy). We were brought water and to my dumb mistake, I didn't pay closer attention to the bottle. My friends who are unaware and not well-versed in Greek restaurant culture (this is an Italian pasta place but we're in a little private spot in a not-so touristy Greek area) opened the bottle. In the end, it turned out that we had been served a bottle of water we would pay for without having ordered a bottle of water we wanted to pay for. Silly mistake on my end. However, it's just a bottle so it shouldn't be that bad.
HOWEVER, where it got truly unprofessional was the following. We ordered an appetizer and the service asked specifically: Do you want anything else but that ONE plate? I said, no, thank you, that would be all. Blame it on us being hungry and exhausted that day from our airport travels, but when the service brought a plate of freshly baked bread and a spread in a little dip-sized bowl, we believed it was complementary offering. Service didn't say anything as he served, only that this is their freshly baked bread. In the end, they charged us four euros for a tiny bundle of bread and a side-dip. We spoke English and we seemed like foreigners although I had to translate the Greek menu to my international friends, but we're still students and we would appreciate a warning about prices like that. The appetizer we paid for was a small plate of fresh marinated mushrooms and it was acceptable, I guess. I enjoyed my food. I tried out a new flavor with my pasta. But my friends found their food too heavy/cheesy and too seasoned with pepper. They are not used to how Greeks cook their food, so that may be one reason for their reaction. We went there with the best intentions, but we were also too tired to argue. The service miscommunication and dishonesty soured my afternoon that day, unfortunately!
