★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A calming place during the day, but very lively for drinking at night. Cafeterias and bars all over. The view is amazing, as you can guess. If you want to take your dog for a walk or play with your kids or have drinks and fun, this is a place that has it all. The beautiful clean boats add to the picturesque character. Don't miss it when visiting Patras.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They need to fix the place. Even if Patras has one of the best sunsets in Greece. If you cant have proper areas for people to visit you are dooming the local stores to only have customers while the students are in town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately the front basin (used by visiting boats) of patras marina suffered extensive damage over the winter. Until repair work is performed (no sign at the moment), the marina is essentially closed to visiting boats. A basin in the commercial port is the available alternative in patra. This harbour is near the town centre and has services (water and electricity) but not adequate in certain circumstances when waves rebound off the walls. A sad situation for pleasure vessel tourism and related professionals (mechanics, hardware suppliers etc.).
Update 2022: This post remains still true. In fact the port is in an even worse condition after a big storm in November '21. Luckily, the unrelated closure of the Korinth canal has substantially reduced the boat traffic. Any visiting boat intending Patra harbour should avoid coming in bad weather.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place to drink a coffee and watch the sunset. It should have been kept in a better state though because a lof of things are ruined and never get replaced.
