For those who want to experience a true Cretan tavern, friendliness and quality.
I was there three times in one week!
And I was staying forty km.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vimos varios locales en el lugar y decidimos entrar. Pedimos 2 cervezas y para sorpresa nuestra nos trajeron también pescado, patatas fritas, pepino y un plato de uva. Nos cobraron 6 euros. Un local para tomar algo y compartir con los locales.
We saw several places in the place and decided to enter. We ordered 2 beers and to our surprise they also brought us fish, chips, cucumber and a plate of grapes. They charged us 6 euros. A place to drink and share with the locals.

Very basic and definitely worth a visit if you'd like to experience the old style of tavernas that used to be common throughout Crete.
Extremely cheap compared to the local bars in the area and always busy with locals and visitors alike.
Toilet facilities are not brilliant so maybe not good for the more discerning visitor.
The owners are lovely people and will certainly make you welcome.
There is seating available within the premises and also a covered outside area across the road.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a welcoming, truly local place. We had a delicious Greek salad and very crisp, dry white wine for an excellent price. The service is very friendly and you have a lovely view of the church. We came on our first day in Elounda and made it a priority to come back again on the last day.
