★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We (me, my boyfriend and our 8 month old) had a wonderful, wonderful evening at Matapan. The service was perfect, as was the food. We had lobster tartare (delicious!) and red snapper ceviche (amazing! - not one to be missed), followed by two immaculate desserts (cheesecake and tiramisu). Our baby especially enjoyed the breadsticks served at the start of the meal. We have spent a week holidaying in the area but our meal at Matapan has been by far our favourite in every way. Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great concept that definitely worths your visit while in Mani. Very nice elements that maintain the old architecture combined with a contemporary touch. The menu is starting on the road to Alika, the village that Matapan is situated. Its like traveling back on time and suddenly you enter in a Mani castle to taste wines and have a dinner in absolute tranquility! The pizza is baked in the old oven made by stones and it is light and tasty. Apart from it we had a Quinoa salad that was proper and we opened 2 greek rose wines that the waiter recommended successfully! I recommend this place for people who search beyond the ordinary. Thumbs up tho the guys who risked at such a remote place and created something so unique ?

We started with the Asian noodle salad and crab tartar, both great starters. Then the shrimp tacos arrived and the truffle mushroom pizza (soo tasty!). To finish it off we ordered two deserts, chocolate mousse isecream and cheesecake! (see pictures below). The staff were very professional and friendly. Knowledgable to explain us all about hte dishes we ordered and the wine as well! Even though Matapan does not serve local flavours, its a must visit restaurant if you are stay around in the area!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best meal my wife had in Greece and best pizza for me and my son!!! Finally no goat or sheep cheese. The pizza was wood oven with olive tree wood. Delicious. Very friendly and pretty restaurant. Highly recommended ?
