I walked from my hotel near Alykes, approximately 4 miles. I'm a quite fit 52 year old, it took me 1hr 15mins.(This is my 3rd time to the Black Caves) The walk up the bumpy road is do able with good shoes or trainers . If you are a confident driver you can meander up there. Once to the top the little shop/cafe was open and I was met by Zoy or (Joy in English) who was lovely and welcoming. After a quick refreshment of Strawberry liquor which she made herself I climbed up to the caves. You are helped by ropes up to the top (its quite rocky and steep). You won't be disappointed as the views of the island are stunning and it is quite moving if you are there on your own. I never tire of the view. Once back to the shop, spend a few euro's as this their only income and she will be very appeciative. So as you can tell from my review the Black Caves are definitely a place to visit. Most amazing views ever! ?

Really good cave with a great view. Its a tricky thing to get to - especially when raining. A very windy steep and narrow drive followed by a similar walk. A rope someone has installed helps a lot.

Lovely view, well maintained route with ropes and bars, do bring good shoes. The view is amazing even with bad weather.

Just be careful about your car. Not so easy to get there. Bud cave is really nice and small caffee under is like haven. Owners are really kind and you can buy local goods.

Really enjoyed, the views are stunning. There is a testing, steep 100m climb to the cave. It is free, there is a lovely shop selling own made olive soaps and wooden crafts, aswell as much needed cold drinks, this supports the maintenance of the cave.

The challenging drive and the challenging walk to the cave itself was rewarded with a magnificent view. The owner of the stand is very friendly and the lemonade was really refreshing.

Once you get to the top the views are awesome. But first you have to get up there by following a pathway that has iron bars and ropes to help you. Wear sensible shoes as the pathway can be slippy in places. Lovely sense of peace whilst up there and just interesting to look at.
