★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time in Greece/Crete with kids and first time we tried local Greek food. The reviews on Google are absolutely correct - it is a small and really nice place. All that we have ordered was very fresh and made from the scratch. My daughter had tomato soup and I tried a bit - it was not from the can for sure! We ordered a plate to share to try traditional different food. The beef stew was delicious. All veg in salads were crispy and fresh. The pita was freshly baked too.
I didn’t like much gyros and the local house wine, but maybe because I don’t like meat with any amount of animal fat...regarding the wine, I just got used to a very particular taste...
The location of the restaurant is very good - just by the beach. If you come to the beach, you can easily have a nice lunch at Mesoyiako - they have waterproof pillows and they are ok to welcome half-wet customers ?
We will definitely come back to enjoy food at Mesoyiako before we fly back to the UK.
