★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you don’t come here, then your trip to Athens was a waste. The food is amazing, the service is even better. We came on a Friday evening and the place was packed by 930 but they still got us in to enjoy the food and the live music. Honestly, I really recommend this place and would love to come back again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been visiting it in recent years. one of the best Taverns in Athens, that expresses the Athenian folk music of rebetiko. Giannis, the owner of the tavern, always chooses his musicians with passion. Sometimes he sings too. The place is large with a yard and clean from the moment they stopped smoking inside .. in the past smoking was a problem. I was a fan of the tavern-sister Koutarou (the same owner) and I think it is more original but it has no place to dance. The food in Metaxou is good, without anything extraordinary but the ambiance, the company, the fun and of course the musicians who play live justify the prices. Thank you Giannis for so many beautiful nights we spent and spend together.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a nice small Restaurant with music and a very good atmosphere. Fantastic Greek food, we enjoyed all the starter dishes for 3 hours and cold white wine.
