Mitsis Rinela Beach Resort & Spa - Kokkini Hani Heraklion

What a beautiful hotel, modern and clean. Staff were the best. Well done to all of them. They made us feel very welcomed. But I have to say that the ladies at the Kids club were amazing!!!! My children cried when we had to leave. They made all the kids feel special. I was happy to leave my children with them as I felt it was safe and the girls actually cared about safety. The kids club girls went above and beyond. There was something to eat and drink 24/hrs. The Greek restaurant and pan Asian were excellent. We also really enjoyed the brunch. Drinks were quality with good branded alcohol. The mini bar in our room was always stocked up!!! One thing I would have liked would have been for there to be a heated pool. Although the weather was nice, all the pools were freezing. We had a lovely swim up pool but all we could do was look at it because it was to cold for the children and that was a shame. Oh and maybe themed nights at the main restaurant.

The animation team were excellent and kept our two children well entertained for the duration of our stay. They were very welcoming and had several activities to keep our children busy whilst we enjoyed the hotel. The animation team have ensured we will revisit this resort again. 5/5 fantastic!

A great holiday at a great hotel. For me the best thing about the hotel is the fantastic animation team. Always on hand to help us make the most of our holiday without being in your face and rowdy. Just brilliant. Anna is a fitness goddess who very professionally accommodates and inspires us lesser mortals to do that bit more. She totally made my holiday and I am sure everyone else who came to her sessions that were just long enough to get a good work out without over doing things. I leave feeling fitter and motivated. Just amazing. Thank you Anna :)

Had an amazing vacation enjoyed every second! The hotel is beautiful with amazing views and beach. Many activities during the day and evening shows in the theatre. A big thanks to the animation team Jack and Spiros made our holidays great. Sank you

This place is amazing. Highly recommend. The days of regular hotels are numbered. There are loads of pools scattered all over, each associated with a group of villas. So much better than having much larger pools with everyone fighting for loungers!

The resort is beautiful and in a lovely location with its own private beach. Only 10min from airport and Heraklion which is nice if you want to go visit other cities around. The staff were friendly and the housekeeping was great with cleaning the room every morning. Once we got back from breakfast our room was lovely and clean, which was nice and refreshing. The cocktails are better at the Lounge Bar than at the Cafe, which was a bit of a shame. It’s only a 4* as some things did leave us feeling a bit let down: - we asked for late checkout on the day we arrived (a week prior to leaving the hotel), only to be told the day before that we weren’t allowed the late check out. I understand it’s busy season, but feel as though we should have been told a bit more in advance. Still we were able to use the facilities and our bags were kept in the luggage room for us, which was nice. - we visited the Taverna restaurant twice on the same day as it was my birthday and we wanted lunch and dinner in the same spot as it was by the beach with a lovely sunset! We got a bottle of fizz at lunch as compliments from the staff which was really lovely. We returned at night and asked for a bottle of fizz to be told by the rude manager “no, you had one at lunch”. My partner offered to pay for the bottle as he doesn’t really drink wine or beer which was what was available to drink, but still got told no. My birthday doesn’t finish at lunch and we just wanted to enjoy a bottle of fizz at dinner, which we were happy to pay for. Unfortunately, this wasn’t available for us. On the website it states you get a free leaving present from the team a day before departure - this didn’t happen either. It is still a lovely resort and we had a great time, however, the staff could’ve been better at times and better organised. We would definitely still come back.

It was a fabulous hotel and they had obviously completed our room (we were upgraded) to a high standard with everything you could want. The swimming pools were great and the kids loved them and the proximity of the private beach. The only thing we felt was disappointing and needed improvement was the service. George was the only waiter in the Tavern who went above and beyond. Thank you George! We did feel they needed more staff in most areas and the food generally could have been better but overall it was a fabulous holiday, the kids loved it and I would go back, I feel they’re still finding their feet but more staff would definitely help in the service areas.

Had an excellent stay at the hotel. The bedrooms are beautiful and the pool area was great. There is the added bonus of unlimited pool side Crepes and Waffles which you cannot complain about for sure! The animation staff definitely kept us entertained, I looked forward to aqua ball everyday as it was a great way to meet other hotel members and make friends whilst having fun! They really kept us laughing and ensured we had a good time throughout our stay. The evening entertainment was great for both adults and children. The only thing I’d say that could improve is bigger drinks by the pool and bottled water. Loved everything else and so close to the airport and town centre too!
