Αν σας φέρει κοντά ο δρόμος, μην χάσετε την ευκαιρία, αξίζει. An old 11th century monastery, in an amazing place, relatively inaccessible, without electricity, not very well known, but with a taste maintained and nurtured by the few good-natured and hospitable nuns ready to tell you the story, guide you and show you the surprises that lie there. If the road gets you close, don't miss the chance, it's worth it.

Την ημέρα αυτή πανηγυρίζει η Μονή μέσα στο καταπράσινο μαγευτικό ανοιξιάτικο τοπίο, τέτοιο σαν κι αυτά που μόνο το νησί της Εύβοιας ξέρει να προσφέρει.Σύμφωνα με την επικρατέστερη εκδοχή το όνομα "Γαλατάκη" προέρχεται κατά πάσα πιθανότητα από τον πρώτο μετά τον 10ο αιώνα κτήτορα, που ήταν κάποιος πλοίαρχος καταγόμενος από το Γαλατά της Κωνσταντινούπολης (είναι πολύ πιθανό να ονομαζόταν Γαλατάκης). This Monastery is dedicated to Saint Nicholas (a marine patron and in some way a substitute for Neptune) celebrates both the official feast of Saint (December 6th) and the May 20th anniversary of the removing of His relics. On this day, the monastery celebrates in the magnificent green spring landscape, just like what only the island of Evia knows to offer. According to the predominant version, the name "Galataki" probably derives from the first after the 10th century. who was a captain of the Galatians of Constantinople (most likely to be called Galatakis).
