Έγινε γυναικείο το 1960κατι κ μετά από αρκετές προσθήκες κ μετατροπές έχει φτάσει σήμερα να είναι ένα πανέμορφο και πολύ αξιόλογο προσκύνημα για όλους τους ορθόδοξους . Mavroeidakos on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Όταν μιλάμε για μοναστήρι στη Σαλαμίνα, το πρώτο που σκεφτόμαστε είναι η Μονή Φανερωμένης, που είναι πολύ γνωστή και συγκεντρώνει πολύ κόσμο, όχι μόνο στις 23 Αυγούστου που εορτάζει, αλλά και ολόκληρο το χρόνο, αφού δύσκολα περνάει μέρα που δεν φτάνουν τουριστικά λεωφορεία με προσκυνητές. Υπάρχει όμως και ένα άλλο μοναστήρι, όχι τόσο γνωστό, που όμως έχει κι αυτό μεγάλη ιστορία και σημαντική προσφορά στους εθνικούς αγώνες. Πρόκειται για τη μονή Αγίου Νικολάου Λεμονιών. Βρίσκεται στο νότιο τμήμα του νησιού, στο δάσος του βουνού «Σταυρός», ανάμεσα στο Αιάντειο και τα Κανάκια και περιβάλλεται από τείχος, αλλά και από πολλούς… θρύλους. Ένα άλλο σημείο αναφοράς είναι η πανοραμική θέα που παρουσιάζει το ίδιο το μοναστήρι στον επισκέπτη που πλησιάζει, κατευθυνόμενος προς τα Κανάκια. Η μονή δεσπόζει στο πλάτωμα που βρίσκεται, το οποίο είναι πιο χαμηλά από το δρόμο, αλλά πάλι είναι αρκετά ψηλά, ώστε να έχει μοναδική θέα προς τη θάλασσα. Πρόκειται για έναν ακόμα άγνωστο θησαυρό που κρύβει η Σαλαμίνα. Είναι άγνωστος ο χρόνος που χτίστηκε. Υπάρχει βέβαια μια χρονολογία στη βάση του κωδωνοστασίου (1742), αλλά δεν είναι σαφές αν πρόκειται για τη χρονολογία ανέγερσης ή ανακαίνισης.
